I wouldn't call it a flip phone... If you think you can flip it open like old school moto razr then you in for a treat. The hinge is thought on these. Need second hand to bend it open. I thought being smaller and squarer will be easier to hold when not using the phone. But it's kinda awkward shape and bulky making it hard to carry once you have a cover on (which is a must!) you can't put that in any pocket.

Yeah I'm not sure I'm enjoying it. Had it a few days. It's bulky and not quite how I remember my flip phones of time gone by

I remember telling the lads at work I'd paid £500 for a new phone, since retiring money like that is now not available shall we say . I just can't imagine telling anyone I'd paid £400 for a second hand phone.
The world is mad, people using food banks and others thinking £400 for second hand phone is a bargain.
    rant over, as you were

Yes, I'd suggest feeding your children before buying this phone, There are lower cost alternatives posted on this very site which will suit people who are on the breadline etc.

Broken screens not covered which is the most common fault on these

I'd suggest buying from somewhere that offers this service if you are planning on breaking your screen

Is the phone network locked? Do I need to have a contract with Giffgaff?

    All phones come unlocked:)

Any particular reason GiffGaff seem to be single-handedly taking down the used phone market with these well-priced and graded handsets?
    MentalFloss's avatar
Probably because they aren't looking to earn profits out of this. They just want to clear their used/returned stock at breakeven or even a slight loss.

    Oppo n2 flip is better

Is it available for this price?

I'd be cautious of the condition of these. I bought a Very Good one, supposedly with pristine screen and no visible scratches but half the screen is covered in them, they're very much visible
