Can anyone tell me the main reason for using a nvr over a power injector and a sd card? Other than more storage? Thanks

At some point the SD card will likely go bad and need replacing, not exactly an easy feat if you have the Camera mounted somewhere hard to reach. Another issue that could arise from changing an SD card on an exterior mounted Camera is you don't really want to disturb something that uses waterproof seals that has been baking in the sun for years on end.

Another advantage to an NVR is that it will record everything reliably. If you set a camera to record on a motion trigger only for example, it might not catch the action or miss vital parts.

Another advantage would be if someone steals the camera you'll still have the footage stored on your NVR, assuming you're not paying for cloud storage.

Even if you only use the App and onboard storage, it's still a good idea to buy a cheap NVR that will record everything as a backup and keep it stashed away. It doesn't have to be PoE, as long as it's connected to the same network as the Cameras and the Camera's support Onvif/RTSP it should work fine.

I bought this but ended sending it back. The cameras x2 stopped working. One looked like it had water damage burnt, probable from a poor weather proof connector. If you go ahead look at getting the wall boxes at £27 each.

The other issue was the poor night quality when it rained. You couldnt see anything as the rain was lit by the IR and you just saw white downward stripes. If I was doing this again I would look for the colour vision cameras that use lights rather than IR.

The Hard drive is too small but enough to get you going. x4 4k cameras use a lot of storage but its priced to sell cheaply as a one box solution. If your robbers come on a dry day this is great. If they come on a rain night ........
