Just got a PS5, and PS Plus has changed from my PS4 days. Which tier do you need to get the games each month, and can you use the PS Plus codes you can buy from the likes of CD Keys? Thank you.
    lockedon's avatar
Essential will get you the 3-4 monthly games, like the ones pictured here.

Extra will also give you access to a catalogue of 100s of great games on top of the monthly games.

Premium will give you access to an extra catalogue of classic games from older PS consoles and some game trials, but many don't think it's worth the money for it's current offering. I have Premium but I think I've only played one game outside of the Extra and Essential games.

All packages will give you access to multiplayer.

Damn tbh one of the worst set of monthly games I've seen😔

Is this your 1st month then?

wot no Elden Ring, GOW Ragnarok or Deadspace?

Pointing out a line up isn't the best, doesn't mean we expect the best. Just better than this. (edited)

Where can I get the cheapest Yearly PS Plus at the moment?
Also I have just bought a PS5, do you get any free months of PS Plus?
    SnoopZ's avatar
If you buy PS+ UK then currently buy top-ups from places like Shopto and purchase Plus through the Playstation store.

    Essential £50 or £42.85 using top-up
    Extra £84 or £69.85 using top-up.
    premium £99.99 or £89.85 using top-up.

Great month Sackboy has always been overpriced digitally!
    chris88's avatar
Just like most digital games then

Sackboy is the best platform game this generation.

Such a clever creative game made in UK right out of Sheffield. Give it some love.

The sackboy games deserve more credit and the 2-4 player Coop are so much fun

Sackboy! I've been enjoying this game since it went to about £25ish at some point. Honestly,it's not absolutely brilliant but it certainly forfills the itch while we await astro 2, it has instant loading and haptics on the ps5.

Also worth noting there are quite a lot of free costumes which are kind of ok to pickup.

    Very enjoyable game!

    Dreadful, sony are a disgrace
  9. Genghis47's avatar
I mean it's not free, I pay a subscription, free would mean no subscription but overall good value for money but this month's games are trash,
    sheldococo's avatar
The post doesn't say free though? It's clearly a deal in the deal section
  10. Rossual's avatar
They really pushing Meet Your Maker because they realise they’ve completely ruined Dead by Daylight, huh
    Rorysaurus's avatar
Think they're really pushing it because it's a brand new game.
  11. Glasshalfsmashed58's avatar
    That's disappointing.
    Piranha_Plant's avatar
    No… this is disappointing

Hmm, already got Sackboy, as I heard lots of great things, so been playing it 2 player with my brother, couple hours in and so far it's a pretty standard platformer with nothing special about it, bit bored actually. Dunno what all the hype was about.
  13. akhlaq768's avatar
Are there any offers for ps plus extra subscription
    SnoopZ's avatar
Offers meaning Playstation store discounting it? I don't think so, since PS+ went to 3 tiers the only way of buying it a little cheaper is via gift card credit via places like Shopto I believe and then buying 1 of the 3 PS+ tiers via the Playstation store at whatever price they have it at. All these people complaining every month, yet Sony is still running away with all your money.

Only reason these games were ever added to the sub was to incentivise people to pay for services such as online play and voice chat which should be free.

Imagine voluntarily paying for what is essentially a scam and then complaining about it.
    mr_hercules's avatar
I think you got that the wrong way around. The service was initially a game rental service, which added cloud saves and online play afterwards. So we got PS+ for the games initially. A lot of people still see things that way.

The cloud saves and online play are to ensure people sign up to it, and now a lot of people see the games as a 'bonus'. That's fine if that's when they got on the ship, but you can't say that "the only reason these games were EVER added to the sub was to incentivise people to pay for services". The games were there before anything else!

I'd also add that others, like myself, are tied into long term subscriptions from when the quality wasn't always this 'diverse'. PS+ used to be fantastic, and only had a few months when you'd think "what the hell?" Back in the PS3 days, it was excellent! But times change, I know that, however sony have this habit of shooting themselves in the foot. Many a month they'll give say 3 online party games at the same time, or 3 strategy games, or 3 racing games. I just don't get it.

I do understand that everyone's desires and wishes are different, absolutely. And there are times when I think "oh great month, but I have all 3 games so it's a waste for me". I'd still give it credit for that, and I accept it's a bit of a gamble.

At the same time, there's only a certain catalogue of games that they can offer, and until that changes, we're going to be stuck with it.

First month in ages I’ve been disappointed, not that I need more games to add to the burgeoning backlog of digital games in my library.
  18. Piranha_Plant's avatar
I can finally use all those Sackboy outfits I’ve collected on here since 2020

OMFG. I am so glad I held off buying Sackboy...always wanted to get it, but it was always too expensive. Glad I held out.
I am sure one of you guys bought the game recently...All I can say is, thank you for your sacrifice.

    StevieW0nder's avatar
I hear you but it's still a bit early days

I figured Sackboy would appear as soon as I let my subscription expire for the first time in 6 or 7 years. I let it expire due to a lack of decent games.

That said buying a used copy of this will be cheaper than a subscription.
    Rod_SmithmPK's avatar
I hear ya! I did last month's £5 for 1 month premium deal to see if it's worth buying a PS5 yet. It is not.

    Sackboy is unexpected - heat!
The other two are obviously all they had money left for after that

Can't believe I held out this long with Sackboy. I was convinced from day 1 that it'd end up on plus. So I'm all for that. Hoping Gotham Knights and Sifu show up at some point too. 👀 (edited)

    Is Sackboy multiplayer only?
    IFRIT's avatar
    No, co-op is optional.
  39. codnan's avatar
Not the best month for me .
Sackboy is very average and a bit boring imo .
Will give meet your maker a go .
Although tails of iron is a great game that I hope more people try as it's a really good metroidvania that's challenging but not too hard and is narrated by the Witcher
