8GB VRAM GPUs are already struggling with modern games at 1080p. The new Resident Evil & Harry Potter games both utilize over 8GB of VRAM at 1080p and it causes major stuttering on these cards. This is only gonna get worse as the years go on. The card itself is more than powerful enough to handle it compute wise, it just doesn't have enough memory.

Avoid these 8GB cards like the plague, they'll age terribly over the next 2 years.

Would you recommend the build at the bottom of the post with the 6700XT?

Looking for something that’ll last me a few years at 1440p for hopefully <£1000 (edited)

Few too many of these builds scrimp out on the PSU. I get they cut corners to keep cost down but this one component if it goes up in smoke or malfunctions can ruin everything else too. Upgrade the PSU.

https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/ Gamemax Tier F replace immediately. Linus Tech Tips has them at least Tier D iGpu only. (edited)

I sold my 3070ti last year for more than this on its own.

Im glad you did as no doubt u would of paid for it, unless u got FE lucky last year, and u then had a nice tidy some over.

Last year is last year and the year before, thankfully that period is dead .

I'm looking to buy a prebuilt PC around £1000, but I'm not in a hurry. Is it worthwhile to wait until Black Friday/Cyber Monday for a really scorching hot deal, or are those not worth the wait? Alternatively, if any deal hits over 1000 degrees here I'll probably bite lol.

Probably always going to be a better deal in the future if you’re willing to wait 7 months tbh

wouldn't buy anything from awd-it personally, their customer service is horrendous (edited)

Agreed. Bought a monitor from them, less than 3 months later it was faulty. I sent it back to them (as instructed), they didn’t send packaging to return it in and they told me to get things from the post office. I did. It arrived damaged and they refused to help me. It was only when I left a snotty trust pilot review that they did a U-turn. They then harassed me to update my review since they resolved the issue, even though they had no plans to resolve the issue.

Avoid them like the plague or hope you don’t have any faulty items is my advice.

Great deal again Sarden! Still very happy with the PC I got from one of your deals last year, even if I'm slightly jealous of the 3070Ti in this one!

I paid £799 just for a 4070ti… to get a 3070ti and an 11th gen system for £100 more seems very much like a deal! Nice find! (edited)

Seems like a good balanced spec for a 1440p machine. I'm glad that prices are finally at a reasonable level again
