Good price, but manual duplex printing? *shudder*

I had eco tank, if you don’t use it for a while the print heads clog up. Near on impossible to clean (edited)

I had to scrap a perfect condition XP expression because of it. Cleaning totally killed it.

Great if used regularly. If not buy a printer with heads built into the cartridge.

I have one of these. Bought it when we went into lockdown 2020 cos we were working from home. I print a LOT. Only just bought my first set of ink (and that was only a few quid). Ocassionally drops the wifi connection but I think that's a problem with my wifi as the printer is as far from the router as it's possible to be. I'm very pleased with it (edited)

Can't comment on this model, as I got the ET 3850, the best tech purchase for me in last several years, have older teens doing coursework and using almost daily and I work from home often, and its never missed a beat.

But the eco tank alone is worth its price, lasts a crazy amount of time and price for refills per page is amazing, and so easy to fill when they eventually run out, just put in place and it does the rest.

    Any good a3 printers about?

I have the ET-16150. With A3 capability it has a large square footprint, and printing from Windows has always been a bit hit and miss with Epson printers although with Windows 11 and an upgrade to WiFi 6 it seems to have resolved most problems. As others have mentioned ink seems neverending!

For this price I think you can get laser printer from brother.. not sure if it's a good deal but worth checking around

Why not? What was your experience? (Genuine question)

I've had trouble with my Epson ET2810. Paper jam error with no paper jammed. Googling says there's a small spring inside which comes lose. Not impressed on a new printer and no doubt it will happen again and again.

Argh this sounds like my issue. I have had it 365 days today!

Use these at work, ridiculously cheap to run for a printer and very reliable for an ink jet.

An extra 30 quid gets you another upto 3 years of printing also

I have had one of these for years all through lockdown and loads of school work printed really easy to fill and very cheap Epson genuine ink!!

If you don't use it often don't inkjets get clogged?
I remember I had to run through cleaning regularly with them many years ago (HP, canon, Epson, tried various) if I hadn't printed for a couple of months.

I then switched to laser which has never had that problem. Even had an old B&W laser which printed perfectly after a couple of years in storage.
Currently running down the original 4 toners in my brother HL-L9300cdw which I bought just over 5 years ago, as it came with 6000 page toner cartridges, still got about 50% left of the C/M/Y toners and 30% K, it's never skipped a beat.

The other annoying issue I had with inkjets back in the day was smudging if the paper got at all wet, again not an issue with laser.

The only thing I miss is the option of photo printing, although it wasn't much cheaper than onions services after factoring in the cost of special photo paper.

How does this compare with HP Officejet 8620? I find the ink on this HP printer expensive and doesn't last that much
Also. people are talking about laser printers? what's the cost of these?

I got an eco tank 3 years ago, used by both me and the wife for work and still on the original in’ that came with it (apart from the black which has been refilled once) brilliant printers and so much cheaper to use

I bought one from Amazon Warehouse and just returning it. Could not get the ink into one of the tanks at all, one it kept coming out and the other two colours were very slow. Did we just have a dud or can anyone recommend which of the eco tanks is worth going for?
