DJ8: I've got two, now discontinued. But one is a Brother colour laser, cost £120, the toner that came with it lasted 4 years, replacement toner cost £35. Other is a Dell colour one, cost £100 and replacement toner is £17 - Deals pop up on here sometimes. After a few months of not using one, they will print perfectly without having to clean the heads etc. Will have a look. Won't be printing a lot but little one starting nursery soon you never know (:I I've got this one on awaiting delivery for £49.99: Epson Expression Home XP-2100 Print/Scan/Copy Wi-Fi Printer, Black https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07VV6CPSB/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_M85F94KYTAZ2X9WA0WXM The toners seem quite cheap on this

Looking for a printer, could you suggest something please?
You'll save a fortune buying a laser printer. Injets are terrible.
It's a nice workhorse, but it can have issues with the auto feed on the scanner. Sometimes collecting more than one sheet at once, or just taking it around the roller and keeping it there. It might be temperature dependent, as my room temperature is about 13 degrees, and I don't tend to notice the issue in Summer

Meant to add special papers but my fat fingers hit enter.
stethorn 04/03/2022 23:21OK cool, you don't happen to know what it's like prining on special paper such as card and phoor paper do you? Seeing mixed reviews and not sure if its just people's stupidity. Quality is good on paper if you take tour time and use the best print settings, not the best mind you but good to be sure.
Heat added just ordered I liked the sound of this printer thx krjgreen
I was lucky and got the recent ET2810 for £120. It’s a great printer. Quality output at low cost. Recommended
I’ve only used Tesco’s own brand photo paper in mine and the results were very poor. Not sure if that was the printer or the paper though

Seems decent but issue for me issue is it doesn’t have a document feeder which is damn useful for scanning or copying several pages
I refilled the cartridges on my 8022 printer and it doesn’t work that well. Luckily I bought the printer in Costco last year, so I’ll be returning for a full refund as not fit for purpose, Hp expect me to pay £85 for cartridges that barely do over 500 pages can get lost. Especially as my Samsung laser printer over 10k pages in mono for £40 which satisfies 90% of needs. I’ll probably get an ecotank My son dismantled my previous printer an hp 8740, so not that old, as it wasn’t printing properly and I didn’t have time to clean it. Now it prints very well. He also noted that hp deliberately built in obsolesce into the printer as a crucial part in the ink delivery mechanism is a part that’s best described as thick cling film. He replaced it with something he made on his 3d printer. It was this item that had failed. So, a perfectly working 4 years old printer failed because of hp deliberate obsolesce design. Should be made illegal.
I have this and i can't figure out if there is a sleep mode which only activates when i send something to print
I have an old hp business inkjet with a CISS set. My problem is the print heads drying up. It wasn't a problem when I could buy them for a tenner on eBay but they are a lot more expensive now. Do these epsoms have the same issue?
does it comes with FULL SIZE ink bottles or the small ones ?

Hey everyone, I’m struggling to get apple airprint working on this. Anything I need to do following installation using the epson smartpanel app?
2810
Same for me
Gutted a missed this :(
Hi. What model was delivered. Was it the 2810 or 2811. Cheers.

These are great on ink. Saved a fortune.
Bought one - posted it here - then they upped the price :-( will expire it
ET-8500, round about the £600 mark.
Looking for one with six ink tanks ideally.
Amazon Description Qy Unit price (excl. VAT) VAT rate Unit price (incl. VAT) Epson EcoTank ET-271 0B PrinVScan/Copy Wi-FI Printer, Black + 2 Years £116.66 £139.99 20% Unlimited Printing Card ASIN: B07ZGWC2ZD

I think you bought the 2811 not 2810 as I saw that deal in store. Not sure if there are any differences though.
Was this in store? Can't find it online
Bought from Costco for. £167.69 and can claim further £20 off cashback with Epson with receipt
Anybody uploaded a receipt from Amazon?
Et-2811 in Costco Cardiff is £167.98, not sure what the difference is in models?

EXPIRED - OOS
I returned my ink tank to Epson for repair, the ink was almost empty, didnt have to do anything to the cartridges for posting as checked carefully with them before packing in a box. It was repaired under warranty and they refill each ink tank full before sending back. Again no special packaging. The ink WILLL NOT leak everywhere like other printers. Best printer I ever had as get hundreds of pages from each tank around £6, puts the rest to shame.
Out of stock
I'd imagine the ink would leak everywhere so it's a customer return likely not opened or unwanted
Would maybe worth ringing to ask but from the way the ecotank works, they wouldn't be able to resell it in my opinion.

Expire, out of stock
No ink and the machine is noisy.
You can get cheaper inks on Amazon I had previous versions off this . None branded Epson inks a lot cheaper than branded ink
Is it easy/economical to refill cartridges? Does anybody know? Thanks
"hands free voice activated printing"... Humm, "Siri, print me some money"

hiya I am looking for a printer for occasional printing. whats the best buy which can use 3rd party ink/comp ink? thanks ps. are any of the cheaper epson any good? thanking you in advance
The XP-2100 is a decent little printer and being able to run 3rd party ink cartridges can save you a fortune. Wifi option was very slow for me, but direct connection works well Epson driver crapware aplenty and it does complain that you are using non-Epson carts, but apart from that, works well.
Very slow bough brand new from Argos £44.99
Ohmigosh what's the best option???

Looks like it will be available in 2 weeks, BUT at what price?. I just checked the site, and after some inactivity on my part, a 10% (discount on the first order) box appeared, so you might wanna check it out people (y)
Seems to be OOS, unless I'm missing something (which wouldnt be the first time)
You are MOST welcome, sincerely. ;)
Thank you so much (y)
Just had a look. Check out a seller on ebay called go-inks. Example, 10 inks 4 black, 2 cyan, 2 magenta & 2 yellow £8.99 free delivery.. Just an example, could be cheaper... maybe.

Awful range of printers. I’d never go back to Epson.
Need a laser version of this :(
There are a lot of reviews on Amazon claiming poor paper feed and printing. I usually avoid refurbished due to awful experiences with Dell and Argos Outlet. I think I'll give this a miss but looks like a good price if it works.
Thsnks OP. Any printer the first thing to look at is the print cartidge cost. Had a look on eBay and you can get 4 compatible cartridges for around £8. So on the surface it appears cheap. Makes you wonder why they needed refurbishing /were returned, though? Reviews say not good for color photos. https://www.trustedreviews.com/reviews/epson-xp-3100

I have the ET-4750 (work expense so why not), I love the fact inks last so much longer and much cheaper than other ink jets. For an expensive model, the Windows software is appalling (same software for most if not all Epsons), the colour print quality is decent the HP OJ 9025 which I returned printed better pictures and double sided, albeit skewed, scanning which none of the Epson ETs do (double-sided rather than the skewed scanning (excited) ). Epson’s Windows software is horrible, I can’t work out how to scan from Windows, you’d have to go to the printer (on a different room in the house), use the LCD to scan to your PC. The MacOS software allows you to scan from Printers & Scanners in Settings. For printing documents at scale, these are great and not having to worry about ink prices is great (even though it’s already added to the price - on build and software quality, I would knock off at least £50 off all Epsons).
Depends. Have you gone through the calibration process when first setting up the printer? In the software settings you should be able to do it. It will realign the different colours to be in sync. Alternatively do a nozzle check. It will use up ink but you might have blocked nozzles. This more often happens with non manufacturers ink. How you do this for this specific printer will be in the printed instructions or software help files.
Thank you just bought and setup! Goodbye cartridges! Tip, don’t follow the quick start leaflet there is a QR code which leads to a nice webpage guiding you through setup.
I. bought this printer getting horizontal lines when I print colour any idea?
Thank you both, I probably didn't look properly. Needed a printer for 2 years and not had a clue about inks etc as not used a printer at home for 10years now

Is this Epsom only or are the other companies also doing it? I don't want to buy any inkjet that won't accept third party inks.
Don’t upgrade firmware otherwise you won’t be able to use third party ink
I'm sure I don't know WHAT you mean ;)
Very rapid delivery, just arrived today. Thanks OP
depends if youre helping the HUKD bottom line (cheeky)

Fighting with mine at the moment, was fine for a couple of years now comes authentication failed error message unless my phone is directly ontop the printer. Even then its a bit sketchy. Will try your suggestion.
£185 now :(
I had the same experience with a HP Laserjet P1102w printer with wifi. Complete nightmare! I will never buy another printer without an Ethernet socket ever again!
Thanks but I don't understand. What's a channel?
Did you get an answer here Pete?

Ordered thank you, good price for all 4 colours

Do you have a link?
Scam. Best to buy ink from eBay. £11 and you can get all colours. Enough to print over 30000 papers...yes 30000 using hp tank 550.
Didn't pay attention while skimming through and misread, thought "why would someone want a bottle of cyanide" - but realised if it was true it would have been payback from all our "significant others" once they find out how many spirit deals have been bought today
Thx op ordered 😁

50 pcm and can be upgraded for £1.99 to get another 50 IIRC. ;)
Is this 50 a month prints
Reviews on Amazon are mixed with other models. General reviews are good for this model, tho.
Anyone know what the replacement cartridge prices are like for this? *Edit* £48 at Amazon without the ink subscription Reviews not very promising on Amazon

Does it have a shelf life or expiry date?
(lol) (lol) (lol)
Good find (y) 🏻
Yes, but yellow is usually the colour most printers use the least of, if you have separate cartridges for them. Personally I am happy with my black and white Samsung Laser printer for most things (one of the best deals I got through HUKD, now that prices have doubled or tripled on them) and use Boots etc for the few hard copy photos etc I print
i bought a bundle of these to print off my coldplay tickets, but they were all yellow
308.38 now
Thanks! Now you've got me looking at the same setup ... Damn HUKD and its helpful community!
I have the ET-3750 which has the same "PrecisionCore Print Head" with same number of nozzles per colour. Both printers are using same type of ink: pigment black and dye colours (102). Because this printers are using pigment black ink the results on any gloss paper will not be very good as it will try to make black using the colour inks. The initial printed photos were not great, colours were different from what was on my calibrated screen. These were printed using the printer colour management. I have made some custom printer profiles (ICC) for different types of photo papers. Using these profiles I had great results for personal use photos.
I think the 27XX (now 28XX) has an even smaller screen than the 48XX. 1.5" vs 2.5".
If this has the same screen size as the one i bought the (ET-2751) then it is TINY. Much smaller then our (then) 10 year old HP AIO it replaced, and when it's showing you which button to press, it's almost impossible to make out the symbol without looking really closely. That said, i have had a lot less problems with it than the temperamental HP, and the ink tank system was great during pandemic/home schooling, when we had to print a lot of stuff out. Still only 25% through the black and maybe 15% through the coloured inks, and we have printed hundreds of pages. I have found photo prints to be acceptable. Not breath-taking, but fine.
