Much better to buy Induction hotplate. No waste of electricity and much more safer .

Yes, however, the price is at least double of this and you need compatible dishes. Agree, in a longer term a better solution, but not for everyone in a short term.

Good for the recently divorced chaps living in a bedsit.

Looks like an Xbox Series S.... With a pan on it..

Does it get warm in standby mode like the Xbox though? Baffles me that. No other console does that.

I got one of these from tjc.com. They are 'shocking' quality. I pressed down on a kettle lid and it deflected the base of this enough that the live wire inside connected with the metal base. Loud bang ensued.

If you buy one, be very careful with it! (edited)

These are not so great, had 2 and 1 blew up and the other doesn't get as hot as it should. Should have just not been so tight and brought induction.

Happens with induction too - I had 2 from Aldi, one went off in a big bang, and the other displayed a permanent error code.

The problem with the little hot plates type cookers is that they do not last long. Handy to have around but do not over pay for them.
    JubilantPigeon's avatar
Maybe you get what you pay for and they'd last longer if you bought a decent one

Received mine on Friday, plugged in this evening and had smoke from top and out of sides, hopefully can return for full refund.

That's probably just the coating burning off. Don't turn it on full without a pan on!
