I'd add Heinz to the list (soups, beans etc) but the big names may have shot themselves in the foot, given the options we have, especially in Aldi & Lidl.

Too late! I now prefer ButterPak (Tesco). Norpak (Aldi) is a close second. Lurpak - third. (edited)

Prefer lidl's version. Not tried Tesco.

Perhaps if people stop buying the 200gram Lurpak and Anchor (reduced from 250 gram) Arla may get the message that people will not pay a premium price for 20% les product. Dont get me started on the shrinkage of chocolate bars and sugar tax.

TAKE 2, ROUND 2 minus the 2 offending (to somebody) letters, thems being numbers 2 & 19 of the alphabet

You get it, funny how so many don't, and actually defend much of the "rubbish" (is that better?) we get served. I do believe the likes of Tesco (still my preferred online shop) took/are taking advantage to up prices in general, but especially of its own brands.
And then we have PRICE MATCHING
How can Tesco "price match" its OWN BRANDS, where Tesco is the only seller, not forgetting the purpose OF price matching is to LOWER your price to that of the competition

    This should be fun (edited)

Lurpak gambled and lost, Nordpak £2.30, job done

I am.waiting until it goes back to £2.50. Otherwise Asda own brand is fabulous... would never have tried it if Lurpak had not profiteered.

Should be this price max all the time!

It’s vile how expensive basic staples are these days. No reflection on the deal or OP - but the price of this is pretty obscene. Almost half the hourly wage of some people just to lubricate your sarnie

If there were a mass boycott the price would soon come down

Even Waitrose own is cheaper around £2.60 however Tesco and Lidl are also both good and slightly prefer than Aldi version.

Because of recent Lurpak price changes we now use Lidl own brand and can't tell the difference in taste. Ingredients look almost identical. Thanks for posting.
