    Thanks - just bought a pair of 'Like New' for my daughter for £42.45; sounds a bargain. Even tempted to get a pair for myself though I've already got the Sennheiser Momentum TW2 so I must abstain!

    I bought some and they were in as-new condition, but didn't work. I reckon that they were returned to Amazon as faulty and they just punted them back out again.
    I Sent them to Sony with a copy of my Amazon receipt. Expected back today all repaired.

    This was posted by Barry in the previous deal "I bought these headphones a few months ago at ~55gbp and it was well worth it. This is a steal at this price.

    Bear in mind there is a high chance these come dead on arrival. What will happen is that they dont turn on, dont charge and if they do "charge" the red lights on the top of the ear pieces will flicker.

    Please see my PSA below on how to fix this. If you are in any way mechanically inclined, its an incredibly easy fix.

    Hi folks,

    This is a PSA post for everyone. As I said I received my two "Like New" units but they would not pair and no blue lights. The symptoms were that they would glow red in the charging case but, crucially, the lights on the earbuds were basically flickering.

    I am an electronic engineer myself so was not happy to just return these as I had a sneaking suspicion this was a small issue. I have taken my earbuds apart and figured out the issue. The issue is basically that the battery inside has dropped below the cutoff voltage, in my case 7mV. What this means in practice is that the case/earbud cannot charge the batteries as to it it thinks the batteries are not connected (0V).

    To fix:
    - Take apart the earbud. You can use your fingernail to pry off the cover.
    - Below you will see two screws. Remove these screws.
    - Take off the black piece of plastic. The battery is connected to this.
    - Get an AA battery. Touch the positive of the AA to the bottom of the ear bud battery. This is the side that touches the circuit board in the ear bud.
    - Get a piece of wire and touch it against the negative of the AA and the TOP of the ear bud battery.
    - Hold this for a couple of minutes.
    - Put the battery back into the ear bud. Screw down the screws.
    - Place the earbud into the charging case. The red light should come on and be solid instead of flickering.
    - This now means the unit is charging the battery.
    - Let it charge for an hour or more.

    If you have a multimeter, test the voltage of the earbud battery initially - it should at close to 0V.

    Once the battery in the earbud goes over roughly 3V the earbud will become alive. You can check this because once you remove the earbud from the case it will instantly start flashing blue.

    I believe this issue is 90% of all the issues and virtually none of these earbuds have anything defective apart from an overly discharged battery.

    Promptly returned! Shame because most Amazon warehouse stuff I’ve bought (quite a lot) has generally been very good

    Don’t do it. even if these are cosmetically okay (which they may not be - I bought a “like new” set in black a while back which were more like “like run-over”), they may have terrible battery life or may be impossible to resuscitate…

    I bought "like new" a few months back and have had zero problems with them. I use them regularly and swapped the tip with the enclosed foam ones and they now stay firmly in my ears. Very happy with them.

    Eh I bought some new a few years ago, battery died after 20 months or so and I just replaced the batteries with upgrades. They aren't cheap but I like not throwing them away.

    watch warehouse stock as they might be returns due to battery issues, reviews of the Sonys indicate battery issues with the XM4s, I had two sets, case was faulty and the second have battery drain on one side in under 30 minutes, make sure you check them!!

    I have bought two and both faulty. Battery flickers, doesn’t charge and no Bluetooth connection. Even after factory reset nothing happens. So, Amazon get returns clean them and send them out without fixing the fault. Fantastic!

    Bought a pair as "very good" apart from the packaging having been opened they appear brand new, fired up immediately, easy to set up, absolute bargain for £40, sound great.

    Mine arrived yesterday. Box in mint condition. Very clean and paired easily. I don’t think the box was ever opened. So far working as they should and I like the fit. Sound quality has amazed me.

    I bought some of these last time they were on offer at Amazon. Sounded great as long as you only wanted to hear it through one ear, faulty. Sent back which was easy to do just hassle. I think I will leave it.

    Be careful what you buying
    Some will be lucky if the product was bought before just to check etc and returned in 14 days days interval
    But there will be used for say 6-12 month or more and amazon with these customer not playing just retuning money and these goes back for sale .

    i bought in the past Beats Studio and yes amazon description was used couple scratches and was the cheapest price from used
    When i received they was used for maybe 1 year and battery dead etc ..... all dirt etc was really bad condition . Someone returned as battery dead in 1 Hour
    Returned back and then bought used like new so this one was 14 days return where customer did not wanted "new "

    Bought some relaivkey recently and, for me, theyve been the worst fitting earbuds i have (constantly falling out no matter which tip used) and many people comment on how big they look wheb wearing them. Noise cancelling is ok, but £20 soundcore ones sound just aa good to my ear.

    I have them but rather use my old soundcore life a1 because of the size and you can jump with parachute with soundcore and cant walk with sony

    Would avoid. Tried a couple of pairs from the used section on Amazon and was burned everytime. All had battery issues and didn't work. Condition was great though, no issues there. Took me ages to get a refund for one of the pairs too 👎

    Great sounding earphones but don't buy them if you intend to use for calling/recording. The microphones in these are genuinely useless. I don't just mean bad, unusable. Sony argue that they never advised its use for calls, just that it has microphones. Very poor from them. Just something to keep in mind.

    I ordered (the black ones) which were "Used - Very Good" but the battery on the left-hand unit was dead(= the charging LED was flickering ed)

    Returned and ordered another set "Used - Very Good"

    One scratch on the case but the earbuds itself looked unused.
    The earphones work fine and fit my ears pretty well, switched of DSEE because no discernible difference for my ears and extends battery life.

    So am happy, they are pretty big but find it convenient to take them in and out.
    Charging case is very big as well but then less chance to lose'em

    Only one MAJOR MINOR point
    Quality of the mics for calls is atrocious - virtually unusable (except maybe if in a silent room but even then I sound tinny on the other side). So I wonder if that is a fault on mine or if the microphone quality on these is actually that bad (edited)

    I went for the "like new" ones. Got them today. They look brand new and never used. Everything is still sealed inside. Going to give them a full charge and make sure the battery is lasting the stated time as many of the people in this thread stated this issue with them.

    I can't get over how good these sound. I have a cheap pair of wireless buds which completely pale in comparison but I also already have the Sony WH-1000XM4 overhear headphones and these sound better which I wasn't expecting at all. 

    At the price, these are an incredible bargain!
