I have this monitor and have been using it for 2 years now. If you're on a Mac (I'm on a M1), I'd definitely look elsewhere since this experiences a bug under certain colour combinations where it will erratically flicker. It's a known issue that hasn't been fixed. reddit.com/r/D…ok/

I complained when I first got it and Dell shrugged it off. They literally sent me a replacement this week which has exactly the same issue as I decided to pursue it in a last ditch attempt before the warranty expires. Be aware Dell customer support is now all based in India and is atrocious. Multiple agents, round in circles until you want to rage quit. Take a look at their awful trustpilot scores: uk.trustpilot.com/sea…ell (edited)

Thanks for this, I've also seen comments on that youtube video as well. Think I will cancel my order as I am using M1 Pro MBP (edited)

100%. Exactly what I’ve got it for after switching it from a dual monitor set up, it’s splendid.

Would be nice to have a 100hz and an IPS panel for this price instead of the extra cost for a Dell logo.

I tried 4k 32" as a work monitor for a while and ended up selling it. The default font size is just too small and I didn't see the point of increasing the font size.

I'd suggest plugging the details of your current monitor into a PPI calculator and seeing how this would compare.

Realistically 40" is the PPI sweetspot for 4k.

I have a 40 inch and it's too big tbh, you have to turn your head to look around the screen. The 32 inch is fine for me at 4k and I use it as my main monitor with the 40" to the side

Nice price - but I refuse to buy anything without USB C + PD

This is a fantastic monitor. The fact it's VA is not an issue. You can check reviews like RTings and see it has a good color palette, as well as excellent blacks. Response won't be quite like a similar IPS but it's plenty good enough for non-eSports gaming. Plus, this monitor is designed to be used for both work and gaming. Eg it has Picture in Picture.

Seems to be this persistent myth on hukd, where all IPS is awesome and all VA is bad. When they're just technologies, that vary in quality massively, and neither one is inherently better than the other. One will tend to be better than the other in some areas, but then worse in others. There are plenty of high end expensive gaming monitors that use VA. (edited)

Looks great. If ONLY it was IPS

For me, looking at a VA screen next to an IPS screen is vastly different. The IPS is just so much clearer, sharper, crisp.

I wish I’d never compared with a colleagues IPS, it’s like Pandora’s box! (edited)

as i recently discovered, if the monitor is being used to extension of a laptop how can you get above 4k 60hz anyway?

But yeah for desktops, a bit lame its not higher

VA is nice, really such a big deal that u turned VA into a negative point as its not IPS?

    300 nits is ok too

    Any recommendations for 4k 144hz?

I’d personally go for a 34” widescreen over this. Curved or flat is your own preference. Don’t worry about the resolution, 4k gives little benefit. 1440p is perfect.

Wrong on so many levels. 1440p on a 34" is rubbish compared to 4k.

I’ve got the Xiaomi 34” Ultrawide jobby. Would this be any better for productivity? Enough to justify the purchase? Could sell the Ultrawide. Ta!

Why? This is in that price point, I think you'll struggle to find something similar that competes.
