It's always crazy on these posts that people will complain about paying to sit next to eachother or paying for luggage, you're paying £20-£40 a lot of the time for these flights, flights that take you hundreds/thousands of miles to a new country, thats cheaper that a train ticket to London from a lot of places, so yeah the airline charging pennies for flights is going to charge for every other service, do you really need 20kg of checked luggage for your weekend away? No, do you really need to sit next to your partner for the couple of hours you'll be flying? No, I appreciate people with families might need checked luggage and to sit with eachother but if you find the right deal, Ryanair + checked luggage + seat selection is still generally cheaper than flying a full service flag carrier, better yet, if you can learn to travel light and don't care who you sit next to, you can actually get on these flights for the advertised price, I do that all the time.

You can count the airlines - from the 100s that exist - that don't charge for seat choice on one hand

Good for a last minute weekend holiday to a beach in the Balkans

    Sounds good to me mate.

Couldn't pay me to take a flight on RyanAir.

    Why?

I regularly fly with them and find they are excellent. Very rarely late. (edited)

Beware of extra charges. Last time I travelled with them it cost £90 return extra to take one suitcase, plus £24 extra return not to be split up on the plane. Imagine any other service in life intentionally splitting up people on the same booking then charging them extra to sit together! It shouldn't be allowed. (edited)

It's a budget airline carrier, you know how their business model operated before you booked it so it shouldn't be a surprise
No one is forcing you to book them so choose another likely more expensive provider if you feel this way.

some really crazy cheap flights still post covid - still remember the 70s and 80s when then you needed £200 plus then when I was earning £300 a month for a return flight to European countries, and there was no luxury air ports back then. For people who have the time and interest in flying, we literally have never had it so good. Voted hot.

The Karens of this day and age just don't get this. I say this exact thing all the time

Flights are always great prices, but £35pp each way for a cabin bag and £50pp each way for hold is a lot.

That’s £140 or £200 for a couple before we even pick a flight.

Just bring a decent rucksack each, plenty of space for a week.

Ace deal, thank you! The usual Ryanair pitfalls but we've just booked 4 nights in Warsaw (hotel and travel) for £135pp!

I would not fly on Ryanair if the tickets were free and given the cost of the flight as well.

Aye right, pull the other one!

    £22 there £168 back and that's before luggage 🤷 hardly a bargain
    pellethunter's avatar
That's one specific flight, but there are flights for £22 there and similar price return. Just quit the complaining man

The luggage charge are a glorified tax that catches a lot of people out, I took my mum to Venice and she hadn’t flown in over 10 years she was shocked and got done at both airports by easy jet. If they don’t take you bag into the hold you can do a charge back with your bank for not providing service as described!
    th73hb4's avatar
    Ignorance isn't an excuse.
Ryanair prevented people who used charge backs wrongly from boarding after COVID and still do it. So there's a good chance if you did that you could get to the airport and be told pay up or don't get on.

Cheers for including the 6 Irish airports on the list. Appreciate the effort!

I'm from Ireland, look up the price of accommodation here first, you might get a shock, and not a good one

I’ve booked a couple of flights this year (non sale) but found they have sold them slightly cheaper as a flash sale at shorter notice, as in for travel within the month. Are these ‘flash sales’ quite common fir RA?
  20. franmarshall24ea409's avatar
Is it just me or is it more expensive than normal since you can’t get a cheap return flight on any of them I looked at? looks like they’ve just put the return prices up

Wouldn’t use Rotten Ryanair if it was free.
