The headline picture is of Knaresborough, rather than Harrogate, but I guess it's only a 20 minute drive. (edited)

Add £10/ day if you want to park there.

What's there to do in harrogate?

Valley Gardens park. A million and one restaurants and coffee shops. A billion and one Turkish barbers. Pump Rooms museums - some very good real ale pubs like Coach and Horses, Fat Badger, Hales Bar. Knaresborough worth a visit by train

Stayed there last year, great hotel and the breakfast is unbelievable. There is a Italian restaurant around the corner Buon Gusto, highly recommend

You can actually get this via the IHG website for £68/night for weekday stays including breakfast. And there's no £15 booking fee like there is doing it via Voyage Prive (but no bottle of Prosecco). Got 3 nights in a superior room at the end of August for £214.20! (edited)
