Thanks for sharing. I've stayed in several of these and in my view it's a great deal only if one of the relatively new ones can be found where you're traveling. The ones at Derby Pride Park or Nottingham Central for example are very decent and I'd highly recommend.

However, the older ones are truly disgusting and should be avoided even for £20! Examples are Towcester Silverstone, Bristol Cribbs Causeway, Nottingham Riverside, etc. If you can afford it, pay a bit more and stay elsewhere. The staff are very friendly and deserve praise but the facilities in most of the old ones are knackered, filthy rooms, dirty stale carpets, mouldy bathrooms, leaking taps and showers etc.

If you're looking to book, Travelodge reviews on trip advisor and elsewhere are fairly accurate. Any location that's got less than 4* should be avoided like the plague. You'll hate yourself for booking.

Totally agreed. I used the Llandudno one for work and cancelled it; truly awful!

Booked into the Premiere Inn and had a great stay.

Looking for a room on a Sunday night at a motorway station?. That's where you'll find the majority of those rooms under £35. 👌 (edited)

Sunday night is cheap in many places (pretty much always the cheapest night). It is pretty easy to check on the Travelodge site.

Thanks we’re off to see Michael McIntyre in Nottingham. Central hotel for £32.99 then used 5 percent discount code to get it a bit cheaper. Bargain! X

You'll need a good deal on hard spirits if you're going to be subjected to an hour of that *bleep*

Anyone know if council use Travelodge as a temporary accomodation? I used to use it for work but recently had so many bad experiences with dodgy people in rooms next door keeping me awake or in a restaurant I switched to premier inn.

The dodgy people kept you in a restaurant? That does sound quite frightening.

    Never on a Saturday,

How many people are allowed to stay in one room at night?
    anthony69's avatar
I think it's maximum of 3 adults and 1 child or 2 adults and 2 children per room. The children have to be under a certain age though. I'm sure if the "kids" arrived later noone would bat an eyelid (edited)

    Any ones near central london?
    lazyfatboy's avatar
Yes but as ever it depends on when you want to / can go. Saturday nights no.

Hoping some in central London reduce for August
    jammyhammy's avatar
Don't know about the August price, but I stayed at the Elephant & Castle end of November. Cost for both Saturday and Sunday night was £262 with breakfast (I was a single occupant). The Sunday was roughly a 3rd of the price compared to the Saturday. It's either quite new or had a refurb. I'm planning on staying at this one again in June, but planning a midweek stay, so hopefully prices will be cheaper. The hotel is walking distance to the nearest tube; takes less than 5 minutes. Cost me £30 by taxi from Euston station (gulp) so suggest the tube which takes under 30 mins and I think cost me £2.75 when I departed.

is there any way to search by prices across whole UK?
    peakbear's avatar
Type Travelodge into Google Maps and select your dates and price range and it will do a pretty good job of it (It will show Travelodge site prices along with sometimes cheaper 3rd party sites like Agoda). Google Maps is a great first port of call for hotels in general as you can quickly get the map to the kind of area you want to search very easily.

If you are looking for cheap rooms just limit the price to under say 30 or 35 quid to avoid getting too many hits and seeing where the cheapest areas actually are. (edited)

£200 Fort William, for a Wednesday in June.

Travelodge think they are a proper hotel company

Most £35 rooms are for Sundays but also watch out with these prices.
I checked one that stated £29 but when I went in to book the price was £42.
May have been a one off but just double check before booking
    Kaffehund's avatar
Yes I've noticed this - they seem to bump the prices every few hours and it doesn't show until you go to book
