How many email addresses have you used so far?

Wont effect many but Lebara dont include the Channel Islands in their free roaming locations and the prices are pretty high:

Data costs £14.99/MB and calls are charged upto £3.49 per minute. Incoming calls are charged at up to £1.49/min. SMS costs up to 49p. (edited)

I agree. I had the same problem at Tenerife. Best part is that before leaving the UK, I did chat on line with advisor and he suggested that it will work as normal ( part of EU). After reaching it didn’t work and on contacting Lebara, 3rd advisor told me that Islands are not included . It wasn’t obvious on the website either. I have asked LEBARA to make it clear on the website that Tenerife islands are not in EU!

My Vodafone 2 year contract ends on 18th of August, does this contract start as soon as you sign up?

Great post OP heat added (edited)

It starts when you activate it by putting your SIM in the phone. Which you can do any time within a month of ordering I believe.

How quickly does the SIM arrive? I need a next day sim for reasons of poor planning :/
    KodaBear's avatar
I wouldn't count on an order placed now arriving tomorrow sadly.

You can pick up a Lebara SIM in lots of shops but it will be a full price bundle rather than these discounts.

Alternatively, you can order similar priced discounted SIM plans from their competitor Lycamobile on eSIM which means you can download it instantly to your phone.

I have a three sim contract ending soon. Should I port my number out before or after it ends? Will I get charged for ending it early if I do it before?
    AndyRoyd's avatar
Porting out prior to contract minimum term will incur early termination charge where the charge is typically 3% less than the remaining contract charge(s) & stated in the response to the PAC+DoB request you send to 3, or check anytime via:
..check your outstanding charges in your My3 account, or by texting INFO and your date of birth (DDMMYY) to 85075.

If porting out after end of contract minimum term your rolling plan charges immediately cease on day of port and you will (should) receive pro-rata refund of pre-paid monthly charge - at some (distant) time in future.

Earlier comment in this thread suggested the Lebara sim is good for activation up to a month after ordering,
although previous similar threads had statements that:
Lebara sims are good for activation up to 90 days after order
Lyca sims are good for activation up to 120 days after order.

I've just ordered a Lebara SIM only just to test how many bars I get before I commit. Will this work when I put it in my phone or do I need to add credit before I can actually see the coverage bars? It says good coverage in my area but then again 02 & EE said that but they're fluctuating between 1 & 2 bars!
    KodaBear's avatar
You'll be able to see signal straight away without topping up. But signal bars don't really mean anything. I can have 1 or 2 bars and get over 100Mb speeds and clear phone calls, while in other places I might have full signal but data speeds slowed to a crawl because of congestion.
  11. scunny's avatar
I'm with Lebara mobile,I'm still paying just £4.95 per month for unlimited calls and texts.I only get 5g of data though. That's more than enough for me.
    OhTheMajesty's avatar
That’s what I’m on. Been with them for 3 years. My broadband deal finishes soon so considering an unlimited data Lebara sim to replace it. I get a more than adequate 250mb/s where I live
  12. craig816's avatar
I was with Lebara for a couple of years but now I’m changing. Their data speed and coverage has taken a drastic decline over the last few months where it’s barely usable anymore so beware!
    OhTheMajesty's avatar
I’ve been getting 250mb/s with them for over a year where I am. We’re you using it for your home broadband?
  13. Parallax's avatar
If Three is an option then the £17/unlimited option through Fonehouse is a better deal (plus there's cashback). I get pretty consistently 900Mbps down/150Mbps up where Vodafone (as others have said) tops out around 230-250Mbps. On a good download day it saturates the 1Gbps Ethernet, I've had 109-110MBps (ie megabytes).
    danknott5445's avatar
If you're already on Vodafone they offer Unlimited Max for £20 per month as an additional line.
  14. danknott5445's avatar
For those on Vodafone, the chat will match this price for existing customers. I've just renewed on the Unlimited Max plan for £20.70 per month.

    £9.98 for how long?
  15. danknott5445's avatar
Has anybody on Lebara found the speed to be less than direct with Vodafone? My sim has arrived and at work i get 5G with download speeds of 250mb direct with Vodafone. Put Lebara sim in, and i'm now getting 4g, but speeds of only 75mb?
    OhTheMajesty's avatar
Check the settings in your phone to make sure 5g is on. I found that it reset when I changed carriers

TCB tracked and confirmed as £9.35

On how long I had to activate the sim card?
    This time, unusually,
11 days after the order, I received an email stating that I had 17 days to activate the sim or I may lose the plan or promotion

    4 weeks it seems
    Ricky650's avatar
    30 days
They send emails prompting you to register or lose it

Can someone please give me proper instructions on how to use this deal through topcashback? I just don’t understand how this works , getting frustrated. Went to topcashback, searched for lebara, topcashback redirected me and said ‘shop as usual’ , but I can’t find the deal on the lebara website

Only when I click this link, form hotukdeals, do I see the discount, but not sure if topcashback is activated.

Can anyone confirm if EU roaming and, specifically Switzerland is included with this deal? And how much mins/data do you get? Website is a little confusing on this and calling them confused me even more.
  20. silver3in's avatar
Hi can anyone suggest a free SIM to use for porting out from lebara and back in again please? Thought 3 was my best bet but activated it today and don't even know my phone number!

Ok thanks hope your right, will them call tomorrow if I'm not busy

Yes I've got 30 days checked website just didn't know the right terminology to use to ask, going to purchase one, thanks (edited)

Has anyone received a sim from Lebara in the last week? I ordered 3 over a week ago and I haven't had any dispatched emails.
    LoveDealz's avatar
If they don't dispatch mine in a day or two I will cancel personally. No reason why they should not be dispatching it within 48 hours.
  24. razor_cristian_zex's avatar
    Hello,

I just received the SIM card, first I had to put in the phone and activate via online ACC, the internet speeds are quite limited on the website saying 5G up to 65 mb/sec , I modified the APN DNS via Google , I get in speed test about max 160mb/sec in the best case scenario but in download max 8 mb/sec..
PS I live in East London, the tower its like 300m max from me , idk if they do maintenance on it because on 3 i had lately issues so could be that as well . (edited)

Other people have said that on their Lebara ultd plan they’ve been capped. Wouldn’t be shocked.

I'm in Paris for a few days in early October and was looking for good cheap data SIM for my Huawei portable hotspot. Does anyone know how good the Lebara/Vodafone data coverage is in Paris? The last time I was there I think I was on Plusnet Mobile and could barely get a signal anywhere.

Do Lebara ever offer anything like this after 3 months? Currently in last month of £9.98 and looks like I'll have to go elsewhere.

You mm always port out and back in
