The Makita Circular Saw DSS501Z offers a powerful cutting tool for wood, all in a small and compact product.     TBH I would go for a DSS610 or DSS611 - they are both 165mm saws - which is the standard size for a cordless saw. This is the smaller 136mm version.....have seen a couple of these around. They are fine if you never need to cut anything too thick....but not sure the saving is that great over the normal 165mm version.

    Got this one. It does the job but not super powerful. I cut up an entire shed with it so i could fit it in the car to take it to the dump. It did stop a few times. Bizarely mine can activate even with the safety guard in place and not retracted.
