If this is your first ever Amazon Firestick then this deal is great. But it is not worth upgrading from a previous version - you'll get nothing new and different, everything is the same except fractionally better speed
    robbiet's avatar
I’d disagree if using a certain service.

The lite or standard feels considerably slower on the menu and when loading shows.

Both myself and a family member upgraded from a lite and a standard to these and both commented how much better it was.

    Amazon match?
    Pipster294's avatar
They have matched the non-code £42.99 price

I missed the Prime day sale several weeks back and stubbornly refused to pay the full price afterwards. Ended up purchasing one from an unknown retailer. This was about 2 weeks ago. The last update was that my firestick has been impounded by UK customs
If only I waited for this.
  6. anuruddha's avatar
I have a 2018 firestick 4k and it is still going strong.
    Accy_Chap's avatar
So did i but since upgrading to this much quicker and snappier UI no regrets

    Bought one of these from
Argos for £64.99 a few weeks ago. Anyone know if I buy this & return the old one & get the old price (64.99) refunded?
    AamirQuazi's avatar
If you have the receipt or bought it online with the ereceipt and its within 30 days you should get the full amount back.
  8. alikcan's avatar
Is there a big difference between the standard firestick 4k and this?
    TheGhost's avatar
Supposed to be faster 4k has 1.5gb memory 4k max has 2gb and slightly better chip (processer]
  9. FlyingSquirrel's avatar
Can i use it for iptv?
    HovisBread's avatar
Supposedly one of the best for IPTV.

Given WiFi6e and upcoming WiFi7 it’s becoming an obsolete device, so BF or even Prime day will be price slash.

Kids lost remote from my old Fire TV stick, so time to buy something new I think. Isn't Roku or Nokia better than this one?
    TheGhost's avatar
Roku are cheap but lower memory and you can't side load apps ..nokia I've never used but at £47 on prime. I've the 4k max has everything, side loads etc
  12. luckyday's avatar
Ordered thanks, code worked ok, I have a tv that needs a WiFi dongle or straight to router, hope this will be good for WiFi on tv as says built in
    TheGhost's avatar
Yes I use WiFi..you can do straight to router too but would need to buy the USB adapter for that
  13. qdmdawe's avatar
Ordered! My old firestick has been falling over when I fire up disney and the kids are like! Daddy daddy daddy!!! £38 for peace and quite is worth every penny!!!
  14. 50huz's avatar
Thanks, was waiting for the price drop. Code working is a bonus!
  15. deleted2808586's avatar
Would it not be £37.99 with the code?
    TheGhost's avatar
Even at £42 it's a bargain ,they are £64 usually
  16. jules888's avatar
Damn just bought for £54 on Ebay!
    anuruddha's avatar
Ask for a refund and buy this

Is it advisable to take the Argos insurance for 9.99?
    Pipster294's avatar
    No
  19. Binternet's avatar
Amazon are price matching this as well if you prefer prime delivery.
  20. Neil82's avatar
    Cheers, ordered one
  21. blairboy121's avatar
Thanks but overpriced imo given £22.99 for 4k over a year ago for effectively the same experience to the average person. Should be getting cheaper not more expensive! If you hold out on reasonable prices, they would inevitably come down soon. We’re supposed to be in a recession, or am I not allowed to say that yet? Lol

Ps my old (2nd gen) burned out, emmc prob. 4k still ok so far. (edited)
  22. ns15's avatar
Thanks OP, heat added and ordered!
I got some discounted Argos e-vouchers through my employer's staff portal.
Cost just over £35 after using the £5 code and the discounted e-vouchers!
Be rude to say no at that price
  23. Arterion's avatar
Nice, picked this up for 49p with the code and some Nectar points! Thanks OP!
  24. Rbaj's avatar
Every time I notice the sale price is getting higher and higher. Last time it was £39.99 I picked one for £29.99 on Barclays card promotion. Nevertheless great deal need one for new projector. Thanks OP

    £64.99
    Baldynapper75's avatar
It’s £42.99 on the Argos website when I’ve just looked…
  26. uk3g's avatar
Not sure what is happening on the site as the price does say £64 but seems to apply some form of hidden discount without you doing anything to reduce the price to 42.99. However, I got the message "Sorry, your email address is not valid for this promotion" even though I've never used it with Argos before.
    yeababyyea's avatar
Was it a Gmail I had that problem I used yahoo instead
  27. Pipster294's avatar
Is this the same price it’s reached a couple of times on Amazon recently (like on Prime Day)?
    Crossbow's avatar
Yes, £37.99 has been the lowest in the past year. Some got it for even lower by trading in old devices, like obsolete NowTV boxes or 1st Gen Fire sticks.
  28. Mark_Sproat's avatar
    Thank you 👌.
  29. amfa21's avatar
    Thank you. Worked perfectly.
  30. genty1988's avatar
Thanks OP. Was looking for one of these recently and was able to do click and collect at a nearby store.

even better with a custom launcher, soo many ads and bloat
  32. nonprofit's avatar
Brilliant deal, thank you. The code worked too.

These 4k max firsticks have a major bug that makes them slugish, the normal firstick 4k perfect no bugs.
    AndyBartlett's avatar
    What bug is this?
  34. Jesusaur's avatar
Is this much faster than the 4K model?
    TheGhost's avatar
Supposed to be yes better processor tiny bit more memory
  35. Djpal123's avatar
    Bought. Thanks.
  36. Find_Out's avatar
Why they draining too much of battery?
  37. bainster1's avatar
Brilliant 🔥..... Been using the Lite one for a couple of years and been meaning to buy the Super-califragilistic version for a while. Cheers
  38. IW74's avatar
Main benefit for upgrading from the standard 4k stick was that this one supports iPlayer 4K.
I’ve now finally got a device that has all the apps I use with the 4K support for them all.
Previously had to use the built in app on my LG TV for iPlayer 4K, but the TV is 7 years old and the smart features are getting less smart by the day :-)
    For £38 I’m very happy!
  39. bigjoeftq's avatar
Dose anyone have a discount code as mine has not arrived in my mail and need a firestick for the old dear :/
    CraigeDavido's avatar
It should arrive within 15 minutes, mine did. Have you checked your junk mail, see if it's gone into there
