Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this £319 on release date 2 years ago? If I'd bought when it came out I would have cost me only 20 quid more, and I would have had 2 years worth of use of the tablet.
I don't see much value in this 'deal'.

That’s right cheaper when everything else was cheaper - and now more expensive now everything else is more expensive.

Apple's strategy to market an older model or refurbished product as good value isnt going to work on me

Good price for the best tablet in the world taking into consideration price and specs.

I'd argue that the 4th gen iPad air represents better value for its specs

The airgap below the display on this is so off putting.

Bought this 2 years ago when it was release for 319£ in Amazon, so after 2 years the discount is 20£ ? 😬

iPads hold their value this well. a 2 year old android tab will be worthless

    64gb!! Yikes.

I used to think that, current iPad is 128gb but has 77gb free and I’ve never had less than 64gb left, have all the music I want, loads of Apps, videos and photos and also tv shows downloaded to it, so next time I won’t be so bothered about storage.

great price for a great tablet - although it has been out now for about 2 years, I wonder if an 11th gen would push the 10th gen prices down a bit more in the next few months? (it still makes an excellent purchase for the money though)

This thought also has me waiting, but I’m always waiting when it’s comes to Apples next. There are zero rumours currently for the 11th gen and the 10th gen is priced far too high - but I do want stereo speakers.

Bought this on release for this price two years ago...

Disappointing what's happened to the pricing
    deleted2844744's avatar
And look what happened, people vote it hot and still digging it.
    😄
Apple can charge whatever they want, people still buying it.

64GB, lightning connector, limited os...ice cold.
I wouldn't even give it to my little child.

I have a 2017 base model still works like day one, best bit of tech ive bought for value for money and usability. In that time and before ive been through many android tablets that died within 2!years or be unusable. Do you just need a higher model? If so pay the money its worth it.

Voted cold because for £300 in 2023 I would expect there not to be a visible gap between the display and the glass.
    oscart_98's avatar
honestly you don't really notice not having a laminated screen - plus it makes it significantly cheaper to replace the glass in the event of it being smashed!

Got it for £297 from costco a few months back, but needed to get £15 membership.

A good price for a nice tablet (my daughter likes iOS, and she does art and the ipad is still the best for art/pencil usage).

I tried to get a refurb on ebay, advertised as 100% brand new battery, yet I had to send it back as it drained within hours, so decided to have the assurance of no problems with a new one.

Nice to have a 100% healthy battery, and fairly modern tech

Don't think I could settle for anything less than 128gb these days, which means paying massively inflated prices. Shame.

Still have an original iPad Air (and an Air 2 without screen air gap) they get used to consume media, e.g. Netflix, Amazon, read magazine/newspaper PDF's and update the odd document online and check the odd e-mail. Still can't justify and upgrade/side-grade in 2023 at £300 and still with that stupid darn Lightning connector that needs disappearing into oblivion, will probably keep using the until the batteries are no longer any good and see what is about then, so 2025, maybe longer.

For at least the last few iterations, the base iPad had a new version come out every year which replaced the old version at more or less the same (low) price. So there was only one version at a time and life was simple.

Then Apple got greedy and released the 10th at a crazy price whilst simultaneously keeping the 9th, increasing its price, and calling it the budget one.

So I would hate to buy the 9th now because they bumped up the price and it's an old one. Buying the 10th at full price also seems crazy because it's so expensive and near Air price.

    - ps. I bought 2 iPad 10s in Asia for £350 each which is a decent price. No way would I pay £499 for them. (edited)

100% this, I've managed to snipe brand new 10th gen on eBay for 380 quid, still too expensive imo. But the official price is even more bonkers.

Might be a silly question but are these New ?
if they are, have they just been sat in a warehouse for a couple of years ? And is that an issue for battery life ?
    cigbunt's avatar
your totally over thinking, these are still sold on the apple website nothing suggest these are old dead stock, and if you do have a problem you have apple warranty

Does this come with an apple pencil?
    fancellu's avatar
No, but they will be compatible with the apple pencil v1 (which costs about £70 by itself), which is why they aren't bundled
  22. igp4tel's avatar
Can anyone suggest a good cover for this iPad??
