I have this phone. Battery life is shhhhite

About 9 hours but it will drain faster (approx 6-7 hours) if I am watching YouTube or playing games.

I'd be cautious about the three year warranty. Samsung refused to honour a peeling screen protector issue claiming it was misused, when my daughter, had always kept in case as looked after it as if it was a baby ! This was for the flip three with a very poor battery which didn't even last a day.

how do we get the free chromebook please?

Had a flip 3 for less than 1 year, it developed dead pixels in the centre of screen. Samsung wouldn't repair and voided my warranty because I removed the bubbling screen protector. Do not expect Samsung to help with these flip / fold phones as they look for ways out of it. Complete farce.
    Stellar77's avatar
Samsung outsource to a repair centre called TMT First who are absymal. They had the nerve to try and charge me £317 for a new screen which was clearly a defect that should have been covered within the warranty period. I told them where to go. Be warned Samsung flip or foldable phones as their warranty on such devices is not worth the paper it's written on.

Excellent deal.Noticed we should be able to claim £200 for trade in.samsungtradeinoffer.co.uk/promo-flip5. So effective price of 649 or 599 for student price + chromebook (edited)

Buy from Amazon and claim a trade- in at Samsung?
    Edit
Just had a look and you need to trade a Flip to get £200, £699 would seen to be the best price via this route for the 8/ 256 (edited)

In a sane world, these wouldn't sell. Their 'innovation' is interesting, but the downside of the engineering to even less smart normies should be obvious. And folded they look so un-cool in every way.

The irony is that the high price is the gimmick- a marketing trick where people are more likely to buy something they neither need nor want, because big spending makes such people feel 'big'. The dissing Samsung gives to their customers, as reported by comments here when the display fails, should make people loathe the brand. But there's no accounting for the brand effect with some people.

It's really not that deep, people just like novel and fashionable items, of which this is both.

I've had the Flip 4 for a year and had so many nice comments about it.
  8. T2001's avatar
Had mine for a year too. Best phone I've had to be fair.
  9. yabbas's avatar
I'm still not convinced they've ironed out the issues with screen longevity. Evidence from a close relative on the earlier flip 4 revealed a whole slew of issues with the screen tearing at the flip area. Samsung tried to blame him and get out of fixing it.
    neversay's avatar
Mine is just starting to go at the join. Literally days after the 1 year additional 'insurance' expired.
  10. Maxm4n's avatar
I am not sure about 3 years manufacture warranty, I bought the fold 4 last year, and it came with 3 years warranty, but when I spoke with Samsung thru said its only 2 years warranty, so the amazon is giving their customers fauls information just to sell their product.... I had a live chat with Amazon about my 3 years warranty, so far no one got back to me to confirm that... (edited)

What they say and what the Law is are two different things. They know this and so should you. By dissuading you from exploiting your rights, they save money without breaking the law. It's an old trick- if a company ain't fined for lying, they lie- always.
  11. HIHO's avatar
From my experience of owning a flip4, the screen protector did start to crack just around the crease but samsung shop replaced it free of charge. Apparently allowed one free fix, according to warranty.

In terms of use, had some nice comments from curious people and you do get used to the form factor but is no means the best phone I ever had.

It's a shocking indictment of our education system that a student can't find something better to blow £799 on. Whatever happened to sex, drugs & rock'n'roll?
    ebury's avatar
    It's all AI now

    Sex via tinder, Grindr etc😘
    Drugs via search engine
    Rock-'n'-roll via YouTube,spotify,etc🤘

Overvalued phone and not so useful Mediocre Chromebook with Celeron processor. if it's selling good than Samsung would not have to reduce it to £200 within just one month, £299 Chromebook and a Free Disney plus. (edited)

Would have been great if the £150 trade in was for any device.

Still waiting for Samsung to have their annual gitch prices. They seem to have a better handle on the EPP prices so far😔

Samsung USA doing best ever deals for Tomo Monday dispatch for flip5 & fold5, trade in deals very good. I went thru fold5 yesterday to test & was some very low price + fold5 512gb same price as 256gb & more $ off for some colours. Don't know if Samsung UK will have a sale tomorrow too, deal hounds on your guard:

I'm personally waiting for the new tecno phantom v flip to launch. Too many problems have plagued thr galaxy, so whilst this is a good price, I'm hoping a new phone to market might have learnt from other manufacturers mistakes, whilst also being competitive in price.

A little confused with this deal. Is it £799 but you have to trade in. Or it’s £799 but potentially an extra £150 off extra with trade in?
    ezzer72's avatar
It's £849, £799 if you're a student, and an extra £150 off if you trade in
  23. T2001's avatar
So are they only giving £200 trade in for flip 4?
    ezzer72's avatar
They know first hand how bad it is.
  24. PapasMagic's avatar
I am trying to understand how this trade in works
Amazon shows trade-in value for my fold 2 as £231
So will I get £200 on top when I go on Samsung trade offers link? (edited)
    Shrinkwrap's avatar
If you get paid twice on a trade then I'm in.

It's terms and condition time tomorrow but the likelihood is take what Amazon is paying.
  25. robdevilXI's avatar
I've purchased it via employee portal. £874 total for flip 5 256gb, starter pack and galaxy watch 6 classic 47mm with sport band. Traded in scrap from eBay and my watch 4.
    Baddan95's avatar
    Directly from Samsung?
  26. tim30485's avatar
For the trade in, it says even faulty phones need to power up, charge and be factory reset? Not really faulty then lol.
    Baddan95's avatar
They can be smashed to pieces though, I sent it an s6 that had a case glued to it to keep it together and it wouldn't hold charge for longer than 10mins

Don't fall for the Out of Warranty crap, in the Words of Martin Lewis
    moneysavingexpert.com/new…ty/

Get the claims in, it is easy to do, time to end the Manufacturer warranty scam.
That said, if you paid on a credit card, the easiest route is via the Credit Card company, which gets rid of the Smalls Court minor hassle. (edited)
