Good price, but I bought a Fold3 refurbished from them a few months back, ended up returning it 3 times, on the 4th time, I gave up and asked for a refund. Each one had micro-cracks in the centre of the screen and made crunching sounds when you opened and closed it. Shame as the customer service (other than getting broke phones each time) was fantastic. You're taking a real gamble buying thes types of phone second hand. Although visually, they may look in great nick, there's no way of knowing how many times they've been opened and closed which is of course were the weakness lies.

In saying that, I did buy a second hand one myself which was in excellent nick for 6 months, and recently traded in for the S24 Ultra.

do i need a plan with giffgaff to buy it? or i can just buy it with no problems and use with different network?
    leopraveen's avatar
No you dont, you can choose i don't need a plan in the bottom of the page when choosing the plan.

Unless the refurbishment process includes replacing the screen, i would personally avoid any used folding phones for now... The risk of screen failure is real and not covered by most policies outside of the Samsung's original warranty.

I would personally avoid this phone or any previous ones. There is a flaw in the hinge. it doesn't matter if you drop it from your hand into a concrete floor or it falls off your bed and lands on a cushion, if it hits a particular area in the hinge, your hinge is broken.

Well, dropping any phone has a risk of damaging it🤷

Would any hinge issues be covered by giffgafs 18 month warranty?

depeneding on how old the phone is, will it still have Samsung warranty on it? (edited)

pretty sure with giffgaff you have 30 day no quibble returns, but when your ones arrives, check your settings to see if any manufacturer warrantee remains. This can cover any non-accidental damage.

I keep trying to checkout with Klarna but the final button 'continue with Klarna' wont press, anyone else having this issue?

Bought one two weeks ago. The screen on it has been replaced - you could see a few flecks of glue on the side. Gently scraped it off and it's like new. Very pleased

So if the Fold has active warranty and the screen shows cracks at the folding area, will Samsung replace for free?
Asking because I thought the screen had less warranty then the body?
    quake.ee's avatar
It is still covered for 24 months from the day of activation.

I would avoid fold 4 and flip 4s, the number of hinge issues these have had are ridiculous.
Hinge issues are not damage related they just happen whenever, so you dont have to drop the phone for the hinge to malfunction.
Samsung will fob you off if you try to claim warranty. When you try to claim warranty Samsung will say because there is a tiny scratch on the phone we wont cover it so you need to pay £700+ for repair.
So unless you have samsung care+ you will be having to pay more to repair these than the phone cost. This hasnt just been my experience but many other people as well.
Best to avoid these given how samsung is dealing with issues. (edited)
