Gsfcarparts own brand Drivetec batteries are made by Yuasa, a much better choice. My one was also cheaper than equivalent Lion battery, just use the discount coupon code on gsfcarparts site.

Halfords own brand are made by Yuasa as well, but are more expensive than gsfcarparts.

Had no issues with the Drivetec 053. It even has the magic eye which gives a indication of battery health, basically it's the Yuasa 3000 series. (edited)

Read the previous threads on Lion batteries before you buy.

Crap batteries, ECP don't even test them when you return them under warranty

Touch wood never had an issue with my mams, bought it back in 2017 still going strong.

Same price on ebay if you prefer to buy via them, plus slightly better delivery options: ebay.co.uk/itm…654

Quite possibly the worst brand of car battery you can buy.

No idea why these batteries are posted as they are dire. Buy cheap buy twice. Wouldn't trust them to last a winter

Had one in my mams car for coming up 6 years in December, no problems at all

Ended up replacing my Lion 063 battery for a Bosch one. It didn't last its second winter...

Which one didn't last the second winter

Had one in a car that lives on a CTEK all the time, still died in just over 3 years, I wouldn’t buy another

I wouldn’t trust a Lion battery to keep my wrist watch going.

Mine lasted 6 months (autumn/winter). Got a refund though. (edited)

Ha thought this was a Li-Ion battery for a minute, not Lion branded. £36 for a Lithium ion, I couldn't understand the hate

Will last about 6 months if you've got a subwoofer/sound system in the old rust bucket. Had mine replaced under warranty twice

Isn't that because you ran the battery flat? That's permanently damaging for car batteries - they're not like the batts in our phones.

Consider adding a slightly larger one if you're not going to be idling the car with the system on

Bought same form ecarparts a week ago for 61 I order this one will they refund me or adjust the difference as looks like Same company
    Toon_army's avatar
I mean you could try but I think they'll say no as it's their sister company.
It's stupid if you go on carparts and order something to pick up from Euros you need to wait until it arrives, get Euro have stock! Always baffled me that one

Bought one a few years ago no issues

Had one of these for 2 years before selling the car - no problem at all.

Buying from ECP is my go to for batteries - they don't test them or ask questions, they just swap them out.

Whereas any other seller that has 'warranty' will demand you go and get a battery test report from somewhere (at your cost) before they even consider replacing it. And even then, many horror stories of them denying the swap.

This is why I switched from an expensive Bosch to a 'crap' Lion

I had this exact experience with 'warranty' with Tayna batteries. Only test I think relevant is does it start my car! ECP all the way for me now
