Have you personally tested the one on eBay?

The gooloo is highly recommended by a few YouTube channels

I bought one of these a few months ago and it has been great. My daughter just passed her driving test, so I gave it to her and bought another one.

This deal links to one at Amazon for £54.99. That listing has a link to the same thing at the Gooloo store amazon.co.uk/dp/…SY/ where on Sunday April 14th it was £44,99 with a £5 discount voucher. so I got it for £39.99 with free delviery on Thursday. It has now gone up to £59.99 (edited)

Have you actually used it to start a dead battery?

Project farm on YouTube reviewed this brand a couple years ago during his jump starter tests video. Performed very well against leading brands in this sector.

Yes. I have used the old one a couple of times to start a car with a flat battery. It worked perfectly.

I also used it to charge a laptop for a daywhen I was away from a power supply

The price on the Landmark link has now dropped to £38.21 including delivery (edited)

Forget the "1500A". The key specification, that they seem to be very coy about, is the AHr or Whr rating of the battery pack. Let's say it was 100WHr (it won't be that much but bear with me). 1500 x 12 = 18000 W. A 100WHr pack would run for 20 seconds. A 50 WHr one, for <10. That's the theoretical maximum, it will actually, in practice, be a lot worse than that.

Luckily, no one needs 1500A. Not that they are going to get it. All you can hope to get is the AHr or WHr rating. Which is actually easily measured, once you have it.

A more normal current draw for a starter is 1-1.3kW, so more like 100A.
This pack will happily do that with a runtime of several minutes.

I used mine to start a 1.2 litre Vauxhall petrol engine, and a 1.6 litre Skoda petrol engine. It only had to turn the engine for a couple of seconds each time. One time the battery pack had been sat around for a couple of months before I used it.

I can't find a PDF of the manual for the GE1500 but manuals.plus/goo…ual is the manual for the GT1500.

It gives 1500A as the "peak current", 300A as the "starting current" and the capacity as 37 Watt hours. I don't know how long it would last, but for me, it was enough.

<edit>My new one has arrived. Its a GE2000 and the manual says it has 37 Watt hour capacity, 2000A peak current and 300A starting current (edited)

Question - Does anyone know if these are any good to use for an EV jump start if the 12v battery fails?

Has anyone used on on a realy big engine?
I have a bigger version of this 2000A Peak but I've only tried it on a 1.5 diesel, it fired up instantly even though the main battery was flat.

I used my 1500 a few times on a flat 12v battery, started no bother.
