Will this accommodate a Bafang aftermarket HD motor to include a quite hefty 1000w battery?

If you're going to ruin the bike why wouldn't you just buy an absolutely crap one and bolt the motor to it

Some deal this that's one brilliant bike for the money it will be quick and handle really well, I'm talking from experiences of owning a 901 and currently the owner of a 909

Them bikes are a level above this but as far as I can remember this is a very good bike and a properly good one close to the high end hard tails

    Heat for this

I see the 802 version is the same price. Which is considered better please?
    J1135's avatar
there's very little in it tbh

a quick look about would say a slightly smaller reach on the 802 is nigh on the only difference.

has anyone ordered this and actually received it?

my delivery is supposed to be tomorrow and I have just contacted them to be told there are some stock issues with the supplier?

Got mine yesterday, looks beautiful! Despite EVRI's best efforts to damage it!

At least yours arrived, they lost mine! Evri never even received it from HoF. Now I’m battling robots for a replacement or refund, yaaaaaaay

Front and rear Thru-axles too. Unusual at £500.

How does this arrive? Does it need to be built?
    coldo's avatar
Bikes in general when they are shipped have the handlebars flipped to the side to fit in the box ( simple Allan key to straighten ) some you may have to re-attach the front wheel that dont require a tool . Pedals normally need to be attached along with seat and seatpost . If your not confident with bikes you can always get a wee local bike shop to help out and finely tune the wheels , gears and brakes etc just to give you that extra confidence. Looks a cracking bike this , I'm also tempted .

Great deal I brought this on Monday already when someone shared another bike from HOF 🙌
    kadooosh's avatar
Did it arrive built or did you need to sort much?

Which Vitus (Nucleus/Sentier VR/VRS) is the closest spec to the Whyte 801? Is this the 801 V4?

Coming in as a novice, would this be a good starter MTB? I've been umming and ahhing between this and secondhand but I don't think I know bikes well enough to spot the best deals/common pitfalls to avoid getting stung

This is a great entry level bike. Get it bought!

I cancelled my order - they are almost a week overdue on the delivery and havent provided any update on when it would be. Reading some of the comments above about the condition the product arrives in I think it was best to pull the plug on it.
    Monstrous's avatar
How do you cancel? They told me they couldn’t cancel as the order is still not completed? It would have to be delivered and then returned etc.
  15. SenorDealDong's avatar
I went via the live chat and asked for an update - they couldnt provide one so I asked to cancel and have a full refund - which they honoured.

If you paid on credit card then just refuse the delivery and Section 75 it if theyre being a problem. I just think it would be unfair for you to potentially front the delivery and return cost for something they have been poor to communicate on.

I didnt expect House of Fraser to be such a pain to deal with.

The live chat aren’t giving me any updates really but also won’t cancel the order. Twice last night they just ended the chat on me.
