For a new bike it is a great price, yes it's not for serious riders interested in using it as a mountain bike as such, but for someone looking for a cheap bike to get from A to B it will do the job.

    My old 26 Marin mountain bike needs a new chain, new rear cassette, new triple chainring and probably a new deraullier. I am just thinking through whether it is cheaper to buy the parts or just buy this bike and use them.

    Shimano make some rank stuff too. I doubt any of the components off this would last. Gumtree probably a better bet. You might have a bike charity shop where you live thebikestation.org.uk/ is the one in Edinburgh, you have to rake but there are occasional gems.

    Looks terrible and a very maintenance heavy bike but difficult to argue with the price. I'm not keen on 3x drivetrains with a freewheel that will typically wobble a bit. Very difficult to dial in. Also the front fork looks like garbage. However for someone who is great at bike maintenance and wants something utterly undesirable to thieves for commuting etc I guess it could have some purpose. It would have been a much better bike with rigid steel forks and a 1x or 2x drivetrain.
