I also have Plusnet V2 router, which no-one has got WRT router software on, so I cannot repurpose that.
I want to continue to use the 3x M5's WiFi with this wrt router.
I was thinking that a TP-link WRT router would work best with the TP-link Deco M5's.
If I had only known, I wouldn't have thrown out the V1 Plusnet router just the other day
I want VPN on my router but I also need to have something that is still the broadband modem.
I am still using copper wire to the modem/router, not fibre like is coming out now.
Thanks.","comment":[{"@type":"Comment","@id":"https://www.hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/51776539","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"AndyRoyd"},"datePublished":"2023-12-18T15:09:43.000Z","text":"Consider curveball option?
Asus modem/routers have integral VPN client;
modem models typically identified by \"DSL\" prefix.
Reasonable VPN processing power via Asus DSL-AC88U.
Not \"cheap\" at £220 Currys: currys.co.uk/pro…tml
but alternative supplier ticks the \"cheap\" box at £45 inc 24m warranty (but PITA if it busts prematurely & no spare parts. Hilarious)

Asus may not be the requested TP-Link,
but can use the dual core 1.4GHz 512MB / 128MB spec of Asus DSL-AC88U to benchmark the price/performance ratio of any TP-Link or other option(s).
No indication of intended VPN provider,
but there's a recent dull debate somewhere about Nord being fussy about OpenVPN config, or vice versa."}],"commentCount":5,"interactionStatistic":0,"articleSection":"Ask"}
