sorted byYou mostly freewheel downhill so missing a little top end hasn’t hurt, i find on a flat the rolling resistance limits more than the gearing with mtb tires.
Some people go for a massive front cog for their 1x but feels a little like a waste to me. If you want to go fast a gravel bike is a better choice.
