I will continue to post in these deals please do not bother even for a penny they are not worth the effort they messed up my number port. They messed up my auto renewel then blamed me. They are the worst honestly non uk customer service that speak to you like rubbish.

Yeah, I probably wouldn’t risk porting my number to them, but as a data line in a dual sim phone this is perfect.

read reviews before getting it because they are crap

just seen on trustpilot I’ve signed up with them for sim deal November 2023. The deal was first 3 months 99p and then £10 each month I was charged first month 99p and then second month £10 I contacted customer service and I was advised

    so be warned

they even slow at posting a sim which i decided to not risk going to them (edited)

Do the Lebara deal instead for 99p per month, but be quick as it expires in a couple of days.

Ditto, same problem, I emailed they, they say it will cancelled end of the month . Then it did not get cancelled so I emailed them again they opologised and said, guess what, it be cancelled end of the month.

I wasn't proper to take a risk, so I cancelled the PayPal agreement and ported the number out to a lyca deal to make sure 100% cancelation

Yeah, I heard a few comments about this from other people on their previous deals, that they couldn't cancel and that money was still taken after they had ported out. When they called CS, they were told that porting doesn't mean automatically end of payment and they had to give notice, which of course is against the law.

I have used in the past - I wouldn’t get calls, everyone told me call just wouldn’t connect and voicemails came through hours later, no internet connection at all, was horrendous, did anyone else experience this? (edited)

It's not common, but not unheard of either.

It's because this network doesn't currently support VoLTE. You sit on 4G or 5G for fast web browsing and just generally while idle. But then you need to drop to 2G to make a call (or 3G, but this is actively being switched off right now so barely worth mentioning)

Some phones aren't very good at dropping down to 2G quickly when it's told there's an incoming call so the call just fails to come through. Or in a few locations you might even find that you have a 4G signal but no 2G coverage in range. This will again cause the same problem.

VoLTE (Calling on the 4G Network) is coming soon, but still isn't there just yet. This is a similar situation with a few other brands that piggyback on EE as well. So be careful when picking other networks for now.

I also have bad experience with them. Couldn't cancel via app or web, did chat with them but still was charged 4th month. Never got any invoice or confirmation, called them again, was promised they'll cancel. I cancelled my PayPal payment and requested a pay back from PP which I received. The SIM was live and working further 3 months. Doesn't worth the hassle, there are better deals around.

I must have been lucky. Never had issues with them. The only gripe I had was that they don't support WiFi calling, so I had to move to 1p mobile, which is a bit expensive but supports WiFi calling. Will happily go back if they start supporting WiFi and VOLTE calling as they are the cheapest MVNO on EE. (edited)

    Lebara supports WiFi calling.

When taking this out, make sure you're picking the 30 day sim only and not the 12 months contract. If you click the link above, check terms and conditions it'll say 30 days rolling whereas contract will say just that, contract.

I took a gamble on this and it's been ok. I took out their Xmas deal 10th December, 1p per month for three months then a fiver afterwards, no contract, 30 days rolling. Had some issues getting verification email but it finally came through on Hotmail.

Had an issue with first trying to port in using their site, didn't work. Spoke to a customer support advisor, took PAC code and it completed. Day of the port is always seemingly iffy but after that it's fine.

Have mostly had 5 bars. No WiFi calling, no 4g/volte calling, it's fine though can survive on 2g. 4g 100mb down at night. About 50mb during day. No issue with them taking a penny. Last payment will be 11th Feb, I'm going to Lebara's 99p x6 months thing.

When you call customer support, just dial the number from the mobile, there's no security checks by the advisor lol. I guess they figure if it's calling from the mobile, it's sufficient to conclude only the actual account holder would be calling. (edited)

I thought the same and took a gamble but I didn’t receive calls, everyone told me call just wouldn’t connect and voicemails came through hours later, no internet connection at all, was horrendous, did you have any issues like these?

And their app is pretty straightforward. If you want to end. If you follow the port screen then pick porting out, you'll be given three steps:

    1. Turn off auto renewing payments (easily done on the app)
    2. Request pac code (can always text)
    3. Give pac code to new network - account will close when number ported - receive an email advising it's been closed

I have PayPal set up - I'll do the above then log in to PayPal and end/stop the recurring payment on there too.

I've been lucky I guess... so far. Just another month to stretch that final 1p then we'll see how the port out goes, which I think will be ok.

I don't know if I could take out another penny deal using a different email account etc but ergh, I don't wanna do the whole port dance thing might be too techinical and just crash their windows xp. (edited)

You didn’t have any issues at all? Missing calls? No internet data?

Can I buy this now and activate next month?
    yacoboy's avatar

You have 90 days to activate

Is there an easy way to switch off autorenew yet?
    KodaBear's avatar
Yes. You can cancel your plan yourself in your account. And the billing issue they previously had appears to have been fixed now anyways so even just porting out should stop auto renew now as well.

Scammers, keep clear, never received the sim and they charged me second month now. Second month was full price btw. (edited)

As others have mentioned, read the reviews ! having said that, I did but still took the plunge.

Porting my number took forever and needed to contact them re the auto renew. I requested and used my PAC code well before my 6month 1p deal ended but they still took the full £5 after I had left which I struggled to get them to understand and refund back. (live and learn)

But they were the best for 5G

    Shame

I recently switched and the network is excellent, same as Lebara. Stay away from lyca.
    KodaBear's avatar
Same as Lebara? No this uses EE and Lebara uses Vodafone.

Are you not thinking of TalkMobile? They are fully owned by Vodafone themselves.

Almost free for 3 months, can’t complain! And I’ve had amazing experience with Talk Home.

I had them for some time. No issues. The online chat is quick and useful. Port in out was swift

I am switching just to try and even risked porting my main number. Thanks OP, we will see how it goes.

Edit: so far it is ok, the switch went fine and they gave an extra GB for keeping my number. The odd thing is calling people it takes 15 up to 30 sec to start ringing never had that before. Switched 2 phones to this plan both do that. (edited)

Great to have as a sim in a spare phone
  19. mohammed_saqibgdq's avatar
I just ordered the SIM and paid 1p. I received a welcome email and invoice for 1p. I received no email to say for the first 3 months it will be 1p and then £5pm.

Ditto with the porting. I ended up with the same number on 2 sims (from Asda to these). If the number was called the Asda sim still rang, only worked correctly when I took the Asda sim out. Now, after 5 and a half months I have ported out to 3, which actually went fine, but everyday they try to take £5 from my card. Luckily I had created a virtual card on Starling and locked it so they can't get it.

I just looked on my credit card statement and noticed they have been overbilling me for 3 months, meant to be on a £3 offer and they have been billing me £10!
  25. fm20's avatar
Do the carry out a credit check? For data only would you recommend THM or L*ca?
    KodaBear's avatar
No credit check. It’s paid in advance rather than billed in arrears.

THM tends to be a little better for data than the other name you mentioned in my experience. Both are very similar really but other brand is a little more prone to increased latency and/or decreased speeds at times.
