sorted byThis is a decent price at £150 though. Is the touchscreen same as modern tablets so doesn't impact brightness or longevity?
My unit arrived with tons of dead pixels, I then had to return and swap for a unit with no dead pixels. They charge a few pound extra if you want guaranteed zero dead pixels as they'll go check the screen before sending. Total cost with postage was around £45 and the panel is confirmed genuine and dramatically brighter with much deeper and accurate colour reproduction.
Though be aware, you'll need the 30 pin cable for non-touch as touch screen laptop will come with a 40 pin which won't be compatible.
A Reddit user here: reddit.com/r/t…tn/
detailed their experience replacing their t480 screen if you want more info.

2 year warranty on that and no shipping if you can find it local. I would get 3200 so you can take it with you later but you can run 2666 or 2400 on this laptop as that's the max speed anyway.
First impression is that it's in good used condition. Obvious signs of use but no knocks or cracks on the corners of the casing. Screen has some very small marks from the keys but they're impossible to see when switched on. Touchpad is slightly shiny from use.
Touchscreen works as it should but I doubt I'll use it much.
My only niggle is the ANSI keyboard. Would have preferred the UK ISO as per the picture on the advert.
As a bonus it came with a 512GB (476 GB) NVMe (not the 256Gb that I ordered), i5-8350U CPU, bluetooth, and both batteries. The batteries seem to be in good condition. Internal is 73.25% and external is 84% of original capacity. I connected the charger to test it worked but disconnected it and ran the laptop on the charge that was in the batteries when it was delivered. It ran for over 4.5 hours, before the external battery went below 50%. Internal battery was still pretty much full.
Plan to dual boot Win11 & Linux Mint.
Over all I'm pretty pleased with what I got for £150.

Microsoft even tell you how to do it. It’s just not officially supported.

However be careful as they only pay for 0-2KG, although package weighs ~2.4kg
Had a lot of fuss at the post office as they rejected it on the weight, eventually managed to talk them round but it was extra inconvience.... (edited)
Overall seems OK.
Screen is in good condition.
The keyboard is not UK ISO, and has been re-printed you can smell the paint but I'm sure that will wear off (the smell) over time. Would have preferred the larger UK return key though.
The internal battery is completely dead according to Lenovo vantage software, but it came with the large swappable battery which is at 90% health apparently... so not too bad?
It came with the the m.2 cage so main storage is nvme.
Came with the face scanner and webcam, which I'm not too pleased about, the one which comes with the webcam only has a privacy slider which I would have preferred personally.
I like the form factor, probably just about right, but it's a lot heavier than it looks!
Went into BIOS and swapped the Ctrl and Fn keys, because having the Fn key there is annoying.
Overall pretty clean and tidy.
So I've just dropped £9 on an 8gig RAM module with p+p. £14 on a new modern wifi 6 + bluetooth 5.2 card (AX200NGW) off ebay, and I'll have to get a new internal battery - maybe - not sure how much I'll be out in the field with it yet. Then there's the other m.2 slot to fill which require a £5 adapter and a 2230 form nvme.
Probably still quids in after buying all upgrades considering the cost of a new laptop in this power range.
Does have that cleaner smell tho, not sure its paint or polish but I dont mind that
Do you have a photo of your keyboard?
(I really need to learn how to use eBay, I've been looking for a 9th gen i7 lenovo laptop the whole week and did not come across this offer) (edited)
And is it the best you can get for £500 ?
To fix it you just need to open the Lenovo vantage app and apply any waiting updates. So as long as Lenovo vantage says you are up to date you should be fine.
But I remember at the time people mentioning to check that the thunderbolt version is updated as soon as possible. As there is a bug in it if not updated breaks the charging port. Mine required the update when it arrived from the same seller.
My 10yr daugther thinks mac is slow even for her use ....
I've just been looking at putting a 2nd drive in the WWAN slot (SIM Card bus basically). This is can be done but it needs to be a 2242 nvme B+M key - which are pretty hard to find, and at a price that's worth it!
Looks like you can get a £5 converter so you can put in 2230 M key nvme. ebay.co.uk/itm…ded (edited)
Any other owners done any better than me?
Otherwise it's a nice computer.
