Update 1
26/02 - Ends at 23:59 today if listing items with this promo
80% off eBay Sellers fees offer from 23/02, opt in if eligible

4300284-NE02L.jpg

What's it all about?

  • Get 80% off variable percentage final value fees ("FVF") per listing in final value fees if the item sells and pay no insertion fee.
  • A fixed order level fee of 30p and other fees, including any International fees, still apply.
  • Promotion is valid for up to 100 listings on eBay.
  • Listings must start during the promotional period.
  • Listings can be auction-style or fixed price format.
  • The promotion start and end dates are included in the email we send to invited sellers.
  • Items must sell within the first listing period.
  • Sounds good, where do I find the promotion and how do I sign up?

You can take part in the promotion on eBay.co.uk. Eligible sellers will receive an email with the RSVP link to the offer. You must opt in to the promotion by clicking on this link before any of your 100 listings start.

Anything else I need to know?

  • eBay charge an FVF when your item(s) sell(s). The FVF charged per order consists of: (i) a variable portion (“Variable Portion FVF”) which is calculated as a percentage of the Total Sale Amount; and (ii) a fixed portion (“Fixed Portion FVF”) for example 30p. The Total Sale Amount means the amount the buyer pays for an order, including the item price, postage, taxes and any other applicable fees.
  • The FVF Discount in this promotion applies to the Variable Portion FVF (net of any other discounts) in respect of the eligible items’ Total Sale Amounts. For example, if you would have been charged 12.80% on the Total Sales Amount, the 80% FVF discount will reduce this to 2.56%. The Fixed Portion FVF (e.g. 30p) will not be discounted. Therefore, the fixed charge of 30p per order will still apply.
  • You won't pay an insertion fee for each of the 100 listings. Listing upgrade fees will still apply and will be charged according to the eBay fees policy.
  • You may also be subject to International fees.
  • The number of listings eligible under this promotion may be less where seller restrictions apply. Click here to learn more about selling allowances.

Who can take part?

  • This Promotion is open to all registered Private Sellers who (a) have been invited to take part, (b) are registered to managed payments, and (c) have actively opted in (“Eligible Sellers”). If you have not registered for managed payments you will be prompted to update your details after you opt-in to the Promotion.
  • Participation is linked to the seller's account and is not transferable.
  • Eligible Sellers’ accounts must meet eBay minimum seller performance standards.
  • Please sign in to My eBay and view your seller standards dashboard to verify whether your account is currently meeting the standards. The seller standards dashboard is available to all sellers here.
  • If you registered after 15 March 2011 or haven't listed any items for a while, you may have a listing allowance of 10 items per month or of £650 per month, whichever is reached first. You may be able to increase this allowance by providing additional verification.
  • An eligible item previously scheduled to go live during the promotional period will qualify for the promotion only if you have opted in to the promotion before the listing starts.
  • If an item that is eligible for the promotion had previously closed without a successful sale and is re-listed during the promotion period, it will form a part of the 100 listings limit of the promotion.
  • You will not receive a refund of your original insertion fee if the item sells.
  • Listings do not have to successfully sell during the promotional period to be eligible.
  • If an item qualifies for the promotion and when the item sells, the invoice will indicate the fee including the discount. Please note: if the item does not sell the first time and if you relist it after the promotional period or if it is automatically relisted during the promotional period, standard final value fees will be charged according to the eBay fees policy when the relisted item sells.
  • Items that are automatically relisted through the Automatic relist function or the Good 'Till Cancelled function will be charged.
  • Only single quantity listings are eligible.
  • For items listed in 2 or more categories, only the insertion fee for the first category is included. Standard insertion fees will be charged for listing the same item for each additional category, according to the eBay fees policy.
  • Free listings in this promotion do not count towards your monthly 1000 free listings.
  • Your first listing period may vary and is dependent on the listing format you choose (e.g. – auction-style vs buy-it-now), the duration of the listing you choose and the listing experience you use. The first listing period will be considered to have been ended when the listing you create first renews or relists.

Well at the time of this writing there is also an offer for selected sellers zero fees so you only have to pay for shipping which is an amazing deal, i cant find the link although you should have a message in your inbox if valid. or search it up on Hotuk as it no doubt should be scorching hot.

I wanna know a bit more about the deal before we get into that! Come on eBay ,you gotta seduce me! You don't just jump into bed with Terry Tibbs! You take Terry Tibbs out for lunch, you wine and dine him, you give him an oil massage, and then he gives you 19.50 for that old sofa If you're lucky

Been accepted for once. I ended up selling some stuff last week so obviously need to show you're an active seller to be eligible.
    Baldricky's avatar
Anecdotal evidence suggests selecting a percentage to charity may help also as it's not something a business seller would do and the deals are aimed at genuinely private sellers.

It says that whenever you are not eligible for it.

I'm pleased to say even though I didn't get the 70% last time two weeks ago I've got it again this week same link as it was a month ago.
    damiencartin7's avatar
That's exactly what happened to me. I used the same previous link and was accepted for 70%.

Is there a good alternative to Fleabay for selling an expensive phone? Facebook Marketplace is riddled with scammers and time wasters, so it is only useful if the buyer is willing to collect and pay in person. I am looking at options to post. I know eBay has scammers, but I always check the buyer's ratings before posting anything. (edited)

Frustratingly eBay is probs still your best bet due to audience Just be really strict in the descirption you've checked and photographed imei, serials etc, and send using signed for. Whether it's cash in hand (could be fake money you're given lol) or eBay there's always a risk sadly. Good luck

Here's a daft question having taken advantage of this offer multiple times. Where does this offer push to in your ebay account? How can i find it without the link through HUKD i mean. noob question i know
    OhTyler's avatar
You will get an email from eBay to your eBay inbox once the promotion has started, if you've been offered it that is.

I accepted the 100% for 2 months so when I clicked this is said expired. I'd rather have 100% of for two months. It's been great so far. No limitation on how much you can list
  10. Taronus's avatar
    Just a general „noob“ question 😄…
Do I have to have the item online in that time frame? (23-26.02) or does it have to be online AND sold in that time frame?

    Thanks
    Bobbins2's avatar
It doesn't have to be sold in that time frame, just listed in that time frame. You can have 30 days on a buy it now listing
  11. JurysOnFire's avatar
Anyone got 70% this time round?
  12. Boniek's avatar
My listing will renew today, it will be under FvF? Or I need to cancel and make new listing?
    Yes I accepted FvF offer.
    Darter's avatar
You just need to end the item then either relist or use sell similar.
  13. BrianButterfield's avatar
    Not for me as usual
    FlexiPack's avatar
I went over a year only getting the 70% ones but for a couple of months now I've been getting the 80% each time. I don't know how they work these things but it's frustrating when you're stuck on 70%.

Just sold a 24 year old Walkman the other day for 275 quid. Gotta love Ebay.
    AverageBloke's avatar
I sold a first-generation iPhone still in it's shrinkwrapped box! Of course, via a proper auction house, not eBay. That's my 2024 and 2025 holidays paid for! ;-)

Do new accounts never receive this? I’m a new seller but have to pay full fees which makes it hard given people just undercut.
    Rogier_Arpignot's avatar
I have an account created in 2016 and used to get them regularly. I’ve had nothing for over 12 months now.
  16. tornado63o's avatar
i havnt accepted the 100% off fees yet as worried it will block ever getting the 80% off again. For me having a year of this offer is better than a month of no fees.
    AverageBloke's avatar
I tried the -100% got rejected, but got accepted for -80%. It's only a quid or so difference in my case.

I used to do most of my online shopping on ebay, but it stinks now.

Yesterday I was shopping for an electrical item, sorted the search results by price, and all the cheapest options were people selling the box of the item as a variation (variations that should normally be sizes or colours) just so they get their item listed first.

I had to go though and check maybe a hundred listing before I found one that was just the item at the lowest price.

This now makes ebay look like the dodgiest marketplace there is, saturated with sellers who think customers are morons.

Personally I think ebay should punish sellers who manipulate search results like this, but ebay profit from it so they won't. Dodgy from top to bottom.

There, I've finally had my rant about. It's Amazon for me now.
    DrSlinky's avatar
Personally I'd never buy electrical items of any value from Ebay OR Amazon

Nothing again for me. I got on to them a while ago and they told me to change my marketing preferences and I would soon receive offers again. Nothing has changed in the last 3 or 4.
    doppo666's avatar
I had the same convo with them, nothing for me either, haven’t had any for around 2 years now
  24. Stageshoot's avatar
Been getting this one like clockwork for a year or more now, but got the Free till April 15th one last week so better not click on this one in case it messes something up!!!
    reanna's avatar
Same, but hopefully the eBay algorithm doesn’t think I don’t want the 80% since I didn’t accept it this time.
  25. BradShort's avatar
At this point , they should make this standard for low vol users eh.
    RedXI's avatar
I wouldn't matter to me I'm not selling anything on ebay ever again, and I've bene with them about 20 years.

Last item I sold on ebay was collected in person at my home and ebay still charged me some kind of postage admin fee.

When I had a chat with their customer service and asked why they charged me for a service they didn't provide, the unprofessional CS rep basically told me to pound sand and then cut me off.

    Balls to ebay.

EBay for small sellers is like the IMF for small countries, punishing in every opportunity. I lost 80% offer because I failed their acid test of seller standard
    Baldricky's avatar
I am all for rewarding sellers who provide the best buyer experience. Why did you fail the sellers standard criteria?
  29. Maxm4n's avatar
We want to give you peace of mind that there’s no new ‘side hustle’ tax. Like before, HMRC guidance says if you are just selling some unwanted items that have been lying around your home, such as the contents of a loft or garage, it is unlikely that you will have to pay tax. As you registered with us before January of this year, you shouldn’t be affected by sales reporting until 2025.

The only change is that HMRC is now asking online platforms, like eBay, to share information with them. This reporting doesn’t change your tax obligations, and only happens under these new rules when you pass one of their thresholds: Your sales are over £1,740 in a year (after fees); or You complete more than 30 sales in a year.

If you’re unsure about whether you need to pay tax for your sales, find out more here. (edited)

That's not a lot of money, basically I can sell a few items and then I have to pay tax.... I already paid tax when I bought the thing.

    Can I use the offers?
    Thanks

Its for fixed "buy it now", accepting "best offers" & auctions that you list in the qualifying period. (edited)

Ive been invited to these for the last year or so and now I'm suddenly not... I use it every now and then.

I did try to get that 100% Ebay deal. I wonder if it was because of that?
    TehJumpingJawa's avatar
    Same.

I used to opt in to every offer, on the off chance I might have something to sell.
Now I have something to sell, I haven't been eligible for a single promotion in months

I wonder if anyone got this and the 100% deal?
    Just.Wondering's avatar
Personally I never click through from a deal link, I wait until the Friday and check my sellers page for FVF discount offers.

I currently have the 100 percent fee free deal activated on both my accounts..... But I will be checking on Friday to see if the 80 percent off offer deal is there.

I will not be clicking it though, as I imagine it would end my current Fee free offer.

But ultimately in 7 weeks or so time, I want to be back on the 80 percent discount fee offer... Or if ebay are feeling extra generous, another couple of months of Fee free would be nice... Time will tell.
