Setting up cheap (affordable) 5G broadband

My current broadband is due to expire and costs are shooting up by over 100% so I was thinking of trying a 5G router rather than try and negotiate a better deal

Does anyone have recommendations for 5G routers that would work in bridge mode just so I can use it with my current mesh system and isn't locked to any network? (I'm planning to try a few Sims from different networks to see what works best)

    ZyXEL NR5103 Performs really well and are all unlocked even if they are branded by EE or Three. All of the ZTE MC801A and MC888 that I have seen from Three are unlocked too, and are only ever so slightly behind the ZyXEL for performance but are considerably smaller in size.

    All of these models have support for bridge mode.

    I would recommend the ZTE 5G CPE MC888. Hopefully unlimited sim only deals don't start adding a reasonable use limit when they realise more and more people are switching over to 5G routers and ditching traditional broadband on lengthy contracts.

    Thank you for the recommendation. Do you know if all unlimited data Sims would work? I heard that Smarty is alright but three network signal isn't great where I am so I was thinking of trying something like lyca or vodafone

    Only two networks to consider for unlimited without limits over 600GB/m:
    3-based or Voda-based.

    Best effort suggestion at lowest monthly price:
    Direct 3 unlim starts from £12/m on 24m contract with no promo / cashback messing;
    Voda £9.98/m for max three months cancel anytime no penalty via Lebara, but may be able to rinse and repeat. Inc max 30GB/m Euro roaming.
