Only 8 ideas? Couldn't come up with 2 more?

Did they have make a warm milk, turn of mobile phones 2 hours before attempting sleep, walking during the day to tire yourself out, not drinking caffeine after 3pm, not heating a bedroom the same as a living room, turning lights down low before bed, sticking to a routine, waking up earlier in the day, enjoying a relaxing bath, counting sheeple, not looking at the clock, reading a book about how to get to sleep. I managed 11 serious ideas.

Think I should write a book and let Amazon give.it away for free. (edited)

You forgot to add a touch of rumpy pumpy just prior to lights out. Always works a treat

Nice try, Boz. If only I could stay awake long enough to read it. (I have a condition called narcolepsy, which is where you fall asleep inappropriately. I often 'drop off' 2 or 3 times a day and still feel 'wrecked' when I wake up again.)

I worked shifts for years. I used Melatonin to help me sleep and it worked wonders.

    Heat for the freebie.

There’s plenary of good material on this by sleep specialists.
Lots of generic don’t have your phone in your bedroom etc. I heard a full proof (but painful) technique on DoaCEO was start a routine where you don’t go to bed until 11:59 exactly and have an alarm for 5:00 and wake up at that time. After a few nights your body knows it has to make the most of sleep time and associates with getting into bed. Each week you roll the time to go to bed forward by 15 minutes until you have an 8-9 hour pattern. Apparently 100% success. (edited)
