This book is unique. You can dip in and read a bit about practically anything food related and you will find things you would not find anywhere else. It is a very beautiful book in the way that traditional Japanese things are beautiful. Many of the photographs are black and white/dark sepia. Colour photographs are restrained, a photograph of a cauliflower is just a cauliflower against a white background, no landscape, cottage or hipsters etc.
This is a today only deal. It's a special book.

    Why not, indeed

Got a hardback copy of this from The Book People (RIP) back in 2011 for £20. Thought it was a bargain classic, but it's an old-fashioned book for traditional cooking. 99p though: worth checking out

Will we ever get a kindle edition of any Philip Harben cookbook?
