Just buy a local SIM when you get there. I think UK travellers are the most hesitant to do this.
I paid £5 at the airport for 2gb allowance. Cheaper outside the airport but I wanted it immediately. Fine for 4-5 days use
UK networks offer scam level pricing for roaming outside USA or EU.

I got a sim last year and paid 20MAD no data but unlimited social use for whatsapp, insta and facebook so got around with that and most places have wifi.
Get to the city and buy a SIM from any off-license. It will be far cheaper than what they charge at the airport. Don't be a tourist, be a local.
