Sainsbury's Nectar Summer Rewards starts on 19th July 2017!

Get 2 Vue tickets or 2 Pizza Express mains for 1000 Nectar points.

For those who are familiar with this deal, I hope you are as excited about it as I am and agree that it's a pretty good one. I've been saving my nectar rewards hoping this comes up again this year.

For those who are not familiar with the deal here is the summary:

First: you exchange 1,000 Nectar points for a VOUCHER for either:

a. 2 Mains at Pizza Express restaurants - One voucher for two mains (Classic or Leggera Pizzas, Pasta dishes, Risottos or main Salads).

OR

b. 2 Cinema Tickets at Vue Cinema - One voucher for two cinema tickets to standard 2D films (exclusions apply). Tickets can be upgraded to 3D by paying the price difference. There are no upgrades for VIP seats.

Nectar points can be exchanged from 00.00am Wednesday 19 July 2017 to 11.59pm Tuesday 8 August 2017 inclusive.

3 ways to exchange your Nectar points for a Summer Rewards Voucher are:

1. Customer Services desk at your nearest Sainsbury’s supermarket,
2. Online at nectar.com/sum…rds. (you must have or sign up for an online account with Nectar via nectar.com/join).
3. Visit the Nectar app (again you must have an online account with Nectar or join via nectar.com/join).

Second: once you get your Summer Rewards Vouchers you can redeem them at Vue or Pizza Express from 19 July 2017 until 30 September 2017 inclusive.

Website link: nectar.com/sum…rds

Full terms and conditions: nectar.com/abo…rms

P.S. If you don't have 1000 Nectar points yet and regularly shop in Sainsbury's - it might be worth getting the Nectar app nectar.com/my-…app or have a look at their twitter feed twitter.com/nectar in order to find out ways to get extra points quickly.

considering they used to do 1000 points for a single VUE ticket as standard a few years back, this is a pretty good deal

T&cs state no limits but you'd have to use them by 17th September or they'd expire. Have you got that many films you'd want to see or friends to take? Maybe a sneaky pizza before the film would be best ;-)

VUE offer is poor value compared to the cleaning products offer which for a £3 spend gives you free cinema tickets, better to save the Nectar points for future (never expire) or do the Pizza Express. Assuming you can get to the cinema on a Thursday that is.

I have 48,000! That's despite the fact that I used about 20,000 a few weeks back. I might be able to get a private screening...! Lol

I've been looking last week too! I even rang Nectar helpline yesterday but they would not divulge any info - but I kept refreshing their summer rewards website link and they updated it early this morning.

Is there a limit on how many tickets you can get?
I haven't cashed in any nectar points in 10 years. I'm currently on 24,000 points. Can I get 48 tickets in theory?? Lol

Just to clarify: The vouchers expire on 30 September 2017 (as long as you obtain them from nectar by 8 August 2017)

Thanks. Yeah, that's a really good offer and a better value for Thursday's (£3 or free versus £5 in value). But for the rest of the week, for those who want to spend their nectar points on vue or pizza, I think this is a better offer.

Good one op. I will combine this with the Tesco offer. Also if one does not have enough points consider taking the £5 Pizza Express offer from O2 priority moments. Not as good as this one but still worth considering.

Do you have to redeem the 2 mains at the same time from Pizza Express?

Yes, I believe you do. Here is a quote from the terms and conditions (link in the original post below title): One PizzaExpress Summer Rewards Voucher entitles you to two mains (Classic or Leggera Pizzas, Pasta dishes, Risottos or main Salads) at selected PizzaExpress restaurants). Your voucher must be used in exchange for two mains on the same bill. Your voucher can only be used once.

Sorry to hear that. How disappointing. If it helps this offer is tried and tested for two years now. I have not had any issues so far. I plan to exchange some vouchers on the 19th (as soon as the offer is live) so will let you know if it's smooth sailing then.

Thanks. To be fair they said it was because the film we were going to see was exempt (it was a special one-off screening of a Japanese film). They didn't just say that they didn't accept Meerkat Movies in general. It's just a pity that they didn't say it was exempt on their website.

Fair enough but still, it's so dissapointing getting to the cinema expecting that you are going to get a good discount and then being told no, it's exempt. They should really write it clearly. I've been in that position before, once when I was on a tight budget and I had to go back home as without the discount I was expecting to get it would have worked out too expensive. It was not stated clearly on in their terms and conditions. That's really bad customer service in my opinion.

Yeah it was a bit of a kick in the teeth. To be fair though they did then let me claim a student discount with very little hassle but obviously it still worked out much more expensive than using Meerkat. That cinema was only recently bought out by Vue and the prices have hiked since they re-opened it.

    Or Argos.

Brilliant deal - remember using this several times last year and also managed to grab a £50 gift card for £30 courtesy of AMEX which I used to get starters, desserts and drinks. Hoping that reappears soon. Thanks for posting and enjoy your meal if using it yourself!!!
  22. deleted1496839's avatar
Shame that the Vue deal makes you use both tickets at the same time, rather than giving you two 'admit one' tickets to use at any time. Hot deal though.

Not sure as I picked up my vouchers in person and plan to get the Vue ticket in person on the day.... When I do I'll ask at the counter. But as I said, I'm fairly sure that's the booking fee....

Thanks, yes that would make sense but kind of annoying that VUE would charge some sort of fee which is not mentioned anywhere (though unsurprising), especially since its more than the usual booking fee as well of 75p per ticket.

Still, even with this a good offer and saving.

YES! Not only can you go 48 times but each time you can take someone with you.:) From what I understand you can also cash in a few vouchers per transaction. I had a bunch of points last summer and went to cinema accompanied with another person 12 times.

Sorry no, they can't be used with meerkat 2-4-1. However, if you have a Nectar app or look on their twitter feed, there are loads of ways to up your points balance quickly.
Here is the info from the Summer Rewards terms and conditions (link in the post above):
Summer Rewards Vouchers are not valid in conjunction with any other offer or promotion including Meerkat Movies and Super Tuesday. Nectar points cannot be used to pay in conjunction with this Voucher.
  33. yeaters's avatar
No, you can't combine with Meerkat
