Just hoping for the one with the clock to drop in price today 🙏

Previous sales have reduced the regular and clock editions, with the clock edition ending up around £10 more than the standard edition.

I would buy them but I've already got more dots than Mark Wood... (Cricket joke, sorry).

Any advantage to these over the 'puck' style older model (might be the Echo Dot 3)? I'm really not a fan of the ball style, but if there's a compelling upgrade...

Not really, sound quality is a little better but hardly worth the expense (though you'd get money back selling the old ones).

They do have temperature sensors though, if that's useful to you. (edited)

Can anyone say how these compare to the Google Home Mini? I've had a few of those around the house and I've found them pretty good. Answers most questions well (as long as asked in the right way!), Easy to link to Spotify, will play playlists I've made if requested by name, and I use them more like radios than as my main means of listening to music. I'm going to live abroad soon for a bit, but a friend will be living at my place while I'm away so I'm not taking everything with me. I may buy these to take, and leave the Google speakers at home if the sound on these is just as good or better, and if they're as good for giving answers to the seemingly random things I ask the Google speakers daily as odd questions pop into my head.
