£522 pp saving so a nice deal right on the sand dune beach and the sea is still warm enough to swim. Canary Islands are that bit more expensive but it is that bit warmer.

This sprawling hotel is right next to a beautiful 11-kilometre sandy beach.

The Riu Oliva Beach Resort is right in the middle of Grandes Playas, Fuerteventura’s biggest sandy beach. Corralejo’s restaurants and bars are just 15 minutes away by bus – it stops just outside the gates.

The hotel has a pair of pools that both come with their own snack bars. As for dining, the Canarian and Asian restaurants are supported by weekly theme nights at the two main buffet places.

PoolsThere are a couple of pools here. And the snack bars next to each of them serve up things like burgers and pizza.
Children get a shallower pool to themselves, which is perfect for making a splash. Read More

Food & DrinkThere are two buffet restaurants, with two weekly theme nights and show cooking stations. As for breakfast, it’s a mix of Continental and cooked.
The main restaurants are joined by an Asian-themed buffet and a Canarian place serving paella and grilled meats. In the afternoons, the poolside snack bar's the place for cakes and coffee. Read More

EntertainmentEvenings kick off with a mini-disco for the little ones, and they're followed by live music and cabaret shows. After that, you can sip drinks in the lounge bar. Read More

Facility SummaryThere are two pool areas here – one in the residential area and one with views of the beach. Two international buffets are backed up by an Asian and a Canarian restaurant. And the multi-use sports pitch is just that – football, basketball and tennis can all be played on it.

I’d expect the Caribbean for that price, not Spain

£500 to the Caribbean? What decade are you living in?

For a holiday this close to the date this is a very high price for a mediocre island. You could get tenerife for about this money and give yourself plenty of time to pack.
