I'm pretty sure you won't need chrome extensions on the iPhone. Download the Adguard app from the app store and use your lifetime licence key on that to unlock it and it should work.
#edit
Scratch that, I've just tried it and it doesn't work on Chrome on the iPhone. I'll try and find a solution

Have a look at this if you use Chrome

This is the current state of play of AdGuard on iOS

That's what i do via my router and it keeps most ads out. They are based in Russia though just fyi.
EDIT: i guess this works on mobile data if you isnatll the ap?

It's good that you can toggle on/off for some sites don't like it, like hukd affiliate links
(edited)
It does not work for embedded ads in the video. I've been using YouTube Vanced for years, so don't know if there are other types of ads. You should look at YouTube Vanced or NewPipe.
It does however work for ads inside other apps in general.
For example, it will completely stop ads in the Duolingo app. (edited)
There are, very rarely, some websites or apps that don't work correctly while it's running but you can make a whitelist or just temporarily disable it (edited)
Yeah, ad blocking DNS services or Pi-hole block entire domains only, which is why they have trouble with ads on the same domain (eg, like YouTube or Facebook).
AdGuard can go so far as to block individual elements on a page, even if they aren't ads and are just annoying.
You can run the free adguard docker on a pc at home and connect with any device, no matter if you are home or away, wifi, mobile data, connected anywhere. There's a setting in android called 'Private DNS' which allows you to do this. Obviously more costly and a lot of setting up to be done, but you have more control than you would when connecting to someone else's server. That being said, this is a cheap deal and well worth not having the hassle or cost of running your own system, so this is definitely a good deal.
Excellent thanks for clearing that up. I have YouTube Vanced however im not comfortable with signing in with my google account as its a 3rd party app. App is very good though
Which wouldn’t work on your phone when you’re out
You can set your phone's traffic to route via your home network utilising the pi
Thanks worked
It does not block ads within the YouTube app. These are embedded ads.
I personally pay/nlus nextdns as it blocks at the DNS level, and has a lot of control.
Unfortunately, not. But if you have 1290 rupees (about £12) to spare then you could sign up for a one-year subscription to YouTube Premium via India (VPN required and best settled with a credit/debit card with no foreign transaction fees).
There are alternatives, as stated in previous posts, but I found this method affordable and easy to subscribe to. You can also top-up your YouTube Premium account by adding a further 12-months to your account and lock in the 1290 rupees annual subscription. (edited)
This was removed by hukd due to "self-promotion".
Also, I noticed that it is only valid for purchases of above $50 purchases. Apologies about that.
It's still a good deal and look forward to tweaking the functionality.
I don't need iPhone ad block as already have an effective app for that.
I only need a good ad blocker for my M1 Mac Mini and sure this will perform the job at a bargain basement price.
Anyway, I'm off to clear my AdBlock extension and all the detritus that comes with it and will then unleash AdGuard on my Mac. (edited)
1. No can use any (fee free is best but only saves pennies)
2. Again no, only during sign up. After that you just use YouTube as normal
Oh and if you want to do the family pack, make sure you create the family before signing up too
So far, the only issue I've encountered was email image content not loading (Mail app for Mac) but a quick search deems this a bug in AdGuard and a workaround provided by the developer: forum.adguard.com/ind…10/
The litmus test for me is the DM website and absolutely kills off every ad and those annoying pop-up videos.
Thanks again, korni.
I have to admit I agree. Personally I'm a big fan of AdAway, the best free alternative (especially for rooted devices). But AdGuard offers so much more for the lay user and it works brilliantly for non-rooted devices.
Thank you 💝
You may be using an alternative deal from StackSocial, one that doesn't allow coupons. The coupon seems to work for the linked deal - see attached from my browser.
You then get $3.60 added as taxes for UK addresses. (edited)
This is a very good shout indeed!
However, from the DNS server, you are not able to add your own block list, or to white list sites at will. Through the app you can also block annoyances, self promoting posts etc, which as far as I understand DNS can't quite do.
Does it block YouTube App ads on Android or iOS?
Only asking because on their website they state: "Block throughout the whole system. This includes video ads and ads in your favorite apps, browsers, games, and on any website you can imagine. Dozens of ad filters are available to you and are updated on a regular basis, guaranteeing the best filtering quality."
But this is better than Pihole and doesn't require setup or to have an extra device always powered on. Adguard offer DNS servers for free that works out pretty much the same as having a PiHole. (edited)
Or you could just subscribe to YouTube premium via Argentina for as long as you want to because it's cheaper.
Apk link for firestick? Not sure which one is safe
Does anyone know how we can add extensions to chrome in iphones? The app setup only included safari extensions. (edited)
Depends on when one subscribes but so little in it, hardly worth worrying about.
But I agree, India and Argentina are the cheapest. (edited)
