For the price this is probably fine, also if it's your 1st system it's a good introductory bit of kit.

However, the reviews say the remote app is not good and connectivity from a laptop/PC is non existent.

Running both power and video cables to each camera will be a nightmare for some.

You'd be better off getting a sPoe system where small lan cables carry power & video combined.

Hard to judge without some video images have never heard of it. A good CCTV is how it performs on a dark night for me so many poor ones.

Good spec for an entry level system.
The video cameras are always the problem at this price point. better of to buy the just the hardware box/recorder with out the harddrive and cams for £40 to £50 and then adding your own to what ever spec you need.
Any links to the very good reviews? Would like to have a good feeling about this before purchase...

Well you could start with the 51 reviews on the website of the item ?
No connection from PC is a deal killer. Anyone getting 4 cameras for security surely is interested in having control over their footage locally and but relying on cloud services.

Would definitely steer away from this unless it's for a bit of fun.

My chinese cameras will show a crystal clear image in pitch black, however my hikvision cameras won't... crazy

Looks like the same firmware as my zosi 720p cameras from amazon. For the price it's a good bit of kit if it's the same manufacturer.
Great price for the spec, just a shame it's not POI as I'd buy it, heat though

You may want to consider the following as slightly better spec, POI, metal bodied cameras which are quite good:

960p are decent, which I have, but just swapping some out for 1080p now...
You lot are utterly clueless, jumping on a cctv system because it says 1080p means nothing....
PM me and tell me I was right when u end up returning this garbage

Thank you, got any night time ones
It is recording to the 1TB hard drive so when you want to review the existing footage (it says non stop recording for 20 days and then I guess it overwrite) can you connect the hard drive to the laptop (using a cable) and review and download / save the footage? What the software for this is like?
Also does it record on the hard drive only when got good connection to the broadband or if there is no internet connection it won’t record anything?

no, there's a feature built in to the DVR which lets you record to a USB stick (HDD stays inside unit) or you can use and external viewer on your PC like CMS or poss their own version... the pictures I've put on were snapshots from CMS, but you can save video the same. records to harddrive regardless, network connection for external viewing.. BB speed not important

Do you not have it facing too much of the wall?

Seem like the IR beams are hitting too much of the wall which is why only the wall is lighting up.
Perhaps tilt it away so the beams can hit the ground which might give a better picture

Yep, or a bit of insulating tape over the offending IR LEDs might help reduce the glare.

Coz you've set it wrong.
Need adjusting / moving as there's too much garage "wall" in the field of view of camera.

Maybe because the infrared is bouncing off the brick wall ... More positioning than poor camera .. Probably not much you can do about that the camera down the side of my house is always the same used three different cameras..

Not entirely sure pc plod could care less and as thick as the people doing the thieving probably are, chances are they will just have a hoody on or be well aware of where the camera is anyway.
Thanks for the info
