Amazon Basics Desktop Paper Shredder
The Amazon Basics Desktop Paper Shredder has simple features which make it easy to use and perfect for your home office. It shreds important documents and credit cards to keep your information safe. The small, cross-cut design keeps your information safer than strip-cut designs.

Fast and secure
Do you want to keep your information secure and shred documents quickly? The Amazon Basics Shredder's cross-cut size of 0.22 x 1.84 inches (5.56mm x 2.14 cm) makes it more secure than strip-cut designs and faster than micro-cut shredders. It'll help you get on with your life, with the peace of mind that your personal information is safe.

Great for your home office
From old tax records to bills and bank statements, everyone has sensitive information that needs to be kept safe. Insert up to six sheets of paper at a time to destroy your confidential information before discarding. You don't even need to remove small paper clips or staples. Shreds more than paper: Don't dull your scissors by cutting up plastic cards into small pieces. Insert them one at a time into the card slot of your Amazon Basics Shredder. It chews up old credit, debit, insurance, and ID cards.

Avoid paper jams
Paper jams are frustrating. Luckily, your Amazon Basics Shredder has a reverse feature to clear them. If paper gets stuck, just slide the switch to reverse mode to get the paper out, then continue shredding. Plus, the shredder head lifts off so you can easily empty the 14.4 litre bin and help avoid paper jams altogether.

I had the same shredder. It is solid.
Just remember to switch off the power after use, otherwise it may fail regardless of whether you use it or not.
Mine failed in a year because of not switching off the power. After it was fixed, it has been working well for over another 2 years with power off after use.

I wonder why this is? Very odd but thanks for the tip. I always unplug mine after use as I have 3 devices near 2 socket outlet.

There's also this one that can shred double the sheets, for double the price using the 40% voucher.

    Also micro-cut vs cross-cut.
    Thanks for posting!

I have this exact shredder, I cant leave mine plugged in because it randomly comes to life when it feels hungry for some more shredding. Came home one day to the smell of burning plastic and a motor humming sound coming from it. Highly recommend if you've an otherwise dull life.

I bought this model in 2017 and it does see some heavy use every couple of months. Does heat up when used for a long duration but is still going strong. Only switched on when required.

This seems a good price as I paid approx £31 for it.

I bought this for £30 back in Sep. So far so good. I'm not a heavy user but it's done its job well.

Bought one 7 years ago. Still going strong. Never jammed, always gets through whatever I feed it.
