This guy's reviews are usually a good indicator. This TV is not well reviewed. But it is cheap-ish.

What does support for HDR 10 mean in this example? Does it have an HDR screen? Does it go above a few hundred nits?
    seskima's avatar
I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that it simply means it just supports HDR content, it will play it, even if it doesn't look how it should.

HDR 10 doesn't refer to the nit level (unlike HDR 400, HDR 1000 etc..).

As this is a cheap, entry level TV, I'd imagine that HDR is just a marketing gimmick here. Don't buy this for HDR before doing some research.

    Does it have Roku.?

Is there any chance this goes down in price when Prime Day officially kicks in tomorrow on the 11th?

Also, as 40inch 1080p screens go, is this decent? I have no need for a larger screen or higher resolution.

Looking for a 40 inch bedroom set, been mulling for 2 long, appreciate this is cheap and specs look over but is general consensus pay extra 100 and get a TCL, Hicense or Samsung?

Depends if you will be watching 4k content. If so, I would say it's worth getting something better.

How is £200 for an Amazon 1080p TV a good deal? I bought my 43" Hisense 4K TV for £240 couple months back and I'm sure there are probably better deals available.

Well Mr. Hearst Helmsley, I need a 40" screen and have no interest in going above 1080p (my eye sight), plus Amazon are offering the "Pay Over 5 Months With 0% Interest", so I can pay £40 now rather than the full £200 (useful for me this month). (edited)

I got the 4k version, can be temperamental at times but overall very good tv.

Is there an app/function available on this for watching live terrestrial TV, or do you have to go through BBC iPlayer/itvx etc?
    StrongbadRules's avatar
It has it's own "app" for watching Live TV. It doesn't feel like an app, though. You just press "1" on the remote and, provided you've got your aerial in, you're off to watching freeview.

One note though - on the home screen of the TV (which looks like a Fire Stick's Home Screen, so it's got a list of apps like Youtube, Amazon Prime Video, etc) - it shows you little thumbnails of what's on live TV. This is helpful, but it made me wonder - if a smart TV is watching live TV over the aerial, as it can in this case, will TV Licensing know?

I mean, I know TV Licensing CANNOT tell if someone's watching live tv on a normal non-smart TV, but a Smart TV is connected to the internet. Would Amazon make a note of it and be in communication with TV Licensing?
