Bought it 2 days ago for £138
    From i7 4790k
    Difference is unbelievable
    Temperatures are very impressive
    Actually bought 2
First one had bad memory controller. Dual ddr did not work

    Pared it with 6800xt
    Perfect combination (edited)

Don't forget to enable SAM for more performance!

Me too! paired it with a 3080 and it games like a dream in 4k.

Great for gaming! 5700x is the only other sensible choice before prices get hefty. Folks that only game might want to go for this instead of the 5700x and use the change for more storage or GPU.

5600 and 5700 have almost the exact same performance when power constrained (65W). The extra two cores only really kick in (benchmarkwise) when one ups the power limit. And this CPU is insanely cheap.

the G version is £15 cheaper. I thought the only difference was the dedicated graphics? wouldn't it be better to save £15 and get the G?

has a bit less cache and i think only PCI gen 3 rather than gen 4. So in some cases you're better off with the full version but other cases save money and integrated graphics as back up or encoding is great!

Good price - shame amazon aren't giving away company of heroes 3 with it like other retailers

I've got 5600 and a 6750xt. Unchartered keeps crashing for no apparent reason. Anyone else had this? Irony is that the game came free with amd hardware

Have the same problem I have a 5600 and 6700xt. Read that rolling back to older drivers can fix the issue but can't bothered.

    Cracking deal.

I'm too tight to pay this much, but hoping will push some more 2000 and 3000 series ryzen 5's on the second hand market. So can upgrade my 2200g on the cheap.

I was thinking about potentially looking at picking up a used cpu/mobo to upgrade, what are you hoping for, a 3600?

    Great CPU!

Seems similar spec to my trusty3600, presuming not yet a worthy upgrade?

Depends what GPU and resolution you play at. Check out techspot / hardware unboxed reviews on web / YouTube .

If you play eSports at 1080p 240 FPS the this helps

If you play 4k 60hz story games then little difference (edited)

I'm surprised the cold brigade isn't here. Normally, they'll be whining how it was cheaper a few months ago on eBay.

Good price. I bought the 5700X a couple of days as an upgrade from a 3600 @ 4.2Ghz all core. System feels noticeably snappier now although not running much cooler, even stock. Glad I didn't go for the 5800x as heard they run very hot.
