Got one, thanks OP, at this price I could not complain, being my first MacBook - 16 inch is perfect for me to learn a new OS and thought it would be a good TV substitute in the bedroom. I know it is a heavy monstre and getting ready for this, but at £60 extra, the advantages are too hard to pass when comparing to 14.

Question: I am planning not to use the big power brick that comes in the box for obv reasons (heavy, more powerful than needed which can age the battery). Can I use this Ugreen charger instead? Ugreen 65W

I got my Macbook pro from this deal a few days ago - how do u find it? I feel like it's so far and away better than enything else I have had before that it is astonishing - I have had windows laptops for the last 25 years and this thing is as if I had dreamt how a laptop should be and here it is, in reality.
The instant-on screen, battery and trackpad are phenominal.

Can anybody share a link to the magazine with the offers starting on 26 Feb?

Never owned a Macbook before. Do you guys think this is worth the extra £180 in comparison to the deal below. Can't find a decent Windows laptop for this money and power. Even though 16GB of ram on this day and age, it's just terrible.

Is portability important to you? Depending on your work flow you may not notice a significant performance difference.

Space Grey not showing the additional discount so £2039.98.
    RichH6109's avatar
The Space Grey shows the discount at checkout, it’s just not mentioned on the product page.

Ahh I got the 14inch deal. £60 more for a larger screen and slightly more cpu/gpu is objectively better.
I'm tempted to return and get this but I've come to like the size of the 14 inch. Decisions... (edited)
    TheChiefExecutive's avatar
You and me both. I read on the 14 inch thread costco will accept a return even if opened, which does indeed look like their generous 90 day returns policy. But as you say the portability and 'laptop' ness of the 14 inch does have strong appeal (coming from a 2013 macbook pro). The 16" at £1k off the launch price a year ago is a huge deal (compared to £600 off launch for the 14 inch) but they were overpriced to start with hence so much stock to shift and the idea is to get something you want, not the biggest saving....

Has anybody had their delivered yet? Mine was due to arrive on Wednesday but had to delay it to Friday as i wasn’t going to be home. It’s being delivered by Parcel Force. Not sure how reputable they are… don’t want to receive a box of cat food!

When I bought the 14inch deal it was delivered by DPD which I know are generally quite reliable.
    nrushforth's avatar
Parcelforce are reliable from my experience. Had both the 14” and now 16” delivered by them.

Anyone else feel an electrical feeling/vibration when touching the metal casing whilst the Mac’s charging?
    JakeSully's avatar
Normal. Has been for years. The outside of the case in not grounded. But, is capacitively coupled to ground through its power adapter.

Good discount on RRP, but Apple really need to address their standard storage and memory specs with their next revision as it’s getting ever more unsustainable to justify in todays market of declining sales. (edited)
    zeb.mattey's avatar
I agree BUT you can easily pop a microSD in via baseIQ attatchment and expand the storage to whatever you like. Ram is another thing, but this will last 4yrs+

If only I hadn't bought the M1 pro in November
    adribalasa's avatar
This is a great deal, I also bought the same M1 16” in November. To be honest I still think that the M1 is better value for money because on this one you get the same storage and ram, it’s only 2cpu and 3gpu more, but how crazy are you going to use the Mac to actually feel the difference? For normal usage the difference is minimal, I checked lots of YouTube reviews. Plus the thing that put me off to get the M2 has 2 x256gb as storage which makes the hdd to be slower than M1 which is 1 unit of 512gb.

52279764-jUU08.jpgFound at Costco Croydon and honoured the price at £480 off after initially coming up with the £360 discount at the till. They seemed to think the greater discount was an error about to be retracted even though it's also in the voucher book at the same52279764-eI4GS.jpg

At Costco now. Looks like the changed the price. I bought online this morning and got it for £1559
  13. Chengaiz's avatar
Is the general consensus that the 16 is better value than the 14 inch MBP for £60 more?

    much, much better

A man. Can we have the 14 inch with 32gb and 1tb for no more £200 more. That would be

C'mon Costco - answer the people with a 1TB deal please!

    Hi Guys

A few questions if you don't mind:

    1. How long are you expecting to be receiving OS updates on Macbook pro M2 16"?
    2. How long security updates?
    3. What happnes when you do not get these updates anymore? Will haveving an antivirus be enough? (edited)
  18. iGlad's avatar
I have just made a late night purchase and got the £480 reduction.

My 2015 MacBook Air will be retired gracefully.

Now how do I hide it from the missus? (edited)
    Mentos's avatar
You can leave it at my house

Hoping for other 16" variations to hit after missing the M1 clearances the other month while deciding.

I'm just about to try and find them to remember the comparison.

Ooo missed the in store bit the first time ... (edited)

Any clue if this will be available online? Not really wanting to do a 45 minute drive to a Costco if I can avoid it. Also, I’m not a member so would prefer to buy the cheaper online option.
    Chengaiz's avatar
Based on the magazine (see link in a previous post) I think this will be available online.
  23. Euanicorn1's avatar
Will this be available on the same spec Space Grey? Struggling to see where info about the deal is on website.
    mr_porkbelly's avatar
Looks like the offer is specifically for Silver only.

Thinking of getting this and returning my 14” MacBook. Anyone know how Costco refund when using a PayPal credit account as payment?

do iiit the 16" is so much better

Bough this one today for £1,679.98. How are you getting £1,559.98
  27. JaKay's avatar
Just checked this and it is £360 off the cost not £480 which makes it £1679.98 not £1559.98.

Can’t seem to get it to show the £480 discount I’d 100% buy it today if I could.
  31. at15155's avatar
Received my 14 inch today, unopened and just ordered this. 14 going back as soon as this comes. A great deal.
    Chengaiz's avatar
Do you have any experience with Costco returns? I opened the MBP 14 (to check condition when delivered) but not switched it on. Will they still accept the return?
  32. hukdbuddy's avatar
Clicked the link via my email on my laptop and got the 480 off.

Used the Costco app on my phone without clicking any link and only get 360 off.

Seems clicking through the link only gets you the deal
  33. nrushforth's avatar
Submitted a price adjustment to Costco based on the magazine price. Worth a try.
    2la's avatar
I did the same even though full discount is working now. Don't want to go through the hassle of ordering another one and doing a return.

Costco website down for anyone else? Can’t put the item in the cart.

yes doesn't work for me either. Seems to be for all products i.e. not just for this
  36. BaelinTheFisherman's avatar
Hmm I got the M1 Pro from the deal Costco 1299 a few months ago, do you reckon it would be worth selling that and adding like 300 to upgrade to this?

Used mainly for software dev and music production/recording. Thanks!
    chriscam33's avatar
The difference between the M1 and M2 Pros are relatively minor, about a 10-20% performance boost in certain areas so I think for £300 I’m not sure it’s worth it the M1 Pro is a very good machine still.
  37. mrBrian's avatar
Just requested a price adjustment for the now even better price. This is a great price. Can’t even get a refurb at close to this price.
    2la's avatar
Let us know what happens. I received back £18 only.
  38. 2la's avatar
Mine just arrived, it's staying boxed just in case a 32gb deal pops-up. (edited)
    nrushforth's avatar
What time did you order yesterday as mine still stating processing
  39. JakeSully's avatar
Waiting on the 1TB, as much as I love carrying external drives around. 1TB is the sweet spot on these I think.
    zmdtk's avatar
I agree, but I already bought 512 GB
