listed at £656 and says take 20% show me how. click that and knocks off £60 to get £596. If my maths is correct 20% of 656 is £131.20. Am i missing something here?!

Coupon says max £60 off - no matter how much spent, discount is capped as £60

I have been looking for a decent laptop deals aince a while. I think as per you HUKD experts, this seems to be the first really good specs and value for money. Do you guys think there could be another deal for such a good laptop for ang lower, like in 400s, if I wait a while?
My requirements are these basically: hotukdeals.com/com…206

    Appreciate your reply. Thanks.
    formsm2000comp's avatar
Mate I would look at refurbished deals with your requirements. Plenty posted on here. eBay or ITZOO are the main ones.

Because your requirements are non media, you're paying for a brilliant display you won't really use.

I'd wait for a laptop with 16GB DDR5 RAM and a 12th Gen CPU or AMD equivalent second hand. Should be able to get one of those for £400 within a year.
You could even get A rated or open box returns where it's practically brand new but not sealed so they have to sell it used.

Just keep an eye out for CPU advances per generation. 10th Gen to 11th Gen minimum improvement. 11th Gen to 12th Gen dramatic improvement. Wait for 13th Gen to come out before deciding.

Was just coming here to say that. Spotted the AO website wasn't showing OOS as I was just about to close the tab, checked with eBay and saved £60.

Will this play AAA titles on steam? In high/ultra?
    SirAlexCR7's avatar
Doubt it without a dedicated GPU. May play some of them due to the processor power but fps may not be great.

I have this laptop paid 700 from Amazon a month ago! as everyone has said battery isn’t the best but other than that I can’t fault it. Screen is beautiful and is on the button with anything I try and run. Certainly worth it for this price
    GunMetal's avatar
What kind of battery life are you getting and what is your typical use type please?
  8. liverlee's avatar
Came on here to look at soup and now I'm eyeing up a £600 laptop
  9. northerngeek's avatar
how many USB devices can you connect? To use as a work machine to replace a desktop I would need a scanner and 2 printers plugged in so thats 3 USB devices. if it has say 2 USB ports could an multi-port extender be plugged in?
update: make that 4. i have a USB barcode scanner too.
update#2: make that 5. I have an external USB drive too.
make that 6 if I want a to use a proper mouse. (edited)

Instead of coming back to update your comments 4x, you could have just read the specs mate

Cheers OP, waiting for one like this

I’ve gone ahead and ordered this one! The specs are too good for the price! This will be a huge leap forwards from my 6 year old HP Envy which is starting to show its age now.
  12. Mohammed_ZamanTpO's avatar
Pulled the trigger and done it, wanted a laptop for ages and this seems pretty good. Heat added.

Same here. Been waiting and waiting for the perfect deal! And this is the best by a long shot! So excited

Is this a plastic body or metal? I assume plastic since vivobook < zenbook
    mr_johnsie's avatar
    Metal
  14. NathanJamesShaw's avatar
Thanks OP! What a fantastic deal. I’ve been looking for a laptop for my studies for a few weeks now and this has made me pull the trigger.

Great specs, stunning display, high CPUBenchmark for this processor, solid state drive, lots of ram/cores and great clock speeds

    This really is fantastic

  17. wega3k's avatar
Absolute bargain that. Even has two Thunderbolt 4 ports.
  18. arthurplank's avatar
Wow, that'd give my Vivobook Ryzen 7 5800h the run-around and for less than £50 more! 2 thunderbolt ports too, excellent.
    kwl147's avatar
    Shame no touchscreen!

Now, this is a hot deal.
  22. mr_johnsie's avatar
I have a vivo book. They are great but you might want to look at the battery life if that might be an issue for you. Also they are non-removable batteries so you can’t swap them out.
    Kilij's avatar
    Yes battery life is atrocious
  23. SirAlexCR7's avatar
Will this be ok for basic 4k video editing? Duration would be 1-5 minutes with no effects. Just wondering if the Iris Graphics would be enough or if i need to get a laptop with a graphics card. Thanks
    LordLardy's avatar
should be absolutely fine, go for it.

    49425210-kOnVr.jpg
Think it is half size, but for me it won’t be an issue. It’s surprisingly easy to learn new muscle memory

    An excellent deal voted hot.
Comparable in value to the Lenovo Yoga 16 " from December. The Lenovo slightly bigger and better RAM. But this is 200 nits brighter and you won't notice the weaker CPU.

Just a warning again about these models and the maximum SDR brightness being around 400 nits. Plus terrible battery life like the Lenovo if you run at full brightness. Talking 8 hours at half brightness down to around 4 or less at maximum.
    happyuser1974's avatar
Is what you're saying about brightness true? OLEDs don't consume much energy (if you use dark mode then most pixels are literally turned off most of the time!). Anyone else reading the above comment should treat it with suspicion.

Battery life and overall build quality is why I've unfortunately given this a pass. Nothing beats surface for battery life, keyboards and build at least from my experience. It's a pain paying so much extra for what are the same specs but there just isn't anything like it for me.
    afroylnt's avatar
I thought repairs for surface laptops are very expensive/if they can be done at all
  29. Kaidu's avatar
Is the battery removable and replaceable on this laptop? Thanks
    XiaofengXiaofeng_Xiaofeng's avatar
No laptop has that in 2023.
  30. OhTyler's avatar
It's a nice laptop overall with good spec for this kind of money. The screen is fantastic. However, the keyboard is disgusting an really holds it back. If you plan to do a lot of typing on this thing and you're used to using nice keyboards in the past, don't bother, or maybe buy an external one. (edited)
    northerngeek's avatar
you can plug in a USB i guess if using from home?
  31. Josu's avatar
Anyone has this laptop on hands to ask couple of questions?)
  32. GODLY's avatar
I cannot figure out if it comes with office 365 paid for or not? The review video suggests it did. It asks to pay for subscription at start up. Anyone know?
    Graham_Owers's avatar
Yeah it comes with this subscription offer
  33. northerngeek's avatar
any other 14" laptops with this sort of spec and price out there? I really do like the size of this laptop/notebook. There are adavantages over a larger laptop esp. if taking on a bike or carrying in a rucsack or both!
  34. cmlgoog's avatar
Looks like it doesn't have the 365 subscription.

There is a 3 month adobe creative cloud sub so maybe they replaced it with that

Anybody else finding the fan extremely noisy?
    A57ton's avatar
I heard that in a review I watched. You can almost definitely download ASUS software and adjust the fan curve to suit yourself.

First impressions, I like it so far. The screen is nice (don't forget to manually change your hz because it will be set to 60 by default), the sleek metal design looks great, nice sleek slim laptop that runs pretty fast. The battery life does seem a bit sus as others have mentioned but I guess that comes with having a 90hz screen and blasting the brightness. Also would have liked a backlit keyboard. Think I'll have to use it a bit more to fully give a detailed review but first impressions are good.
    northerngeek's avatar
is that bove laptop. same brand and screen size worth the extra £200? i can probably get it a little less so mayb 150 more.
