    No discount to the USA?

When you get to the USA, the cost of the flight will be the least of your worries when you are paying £20 for crappy fast food, £40 a night "resort fee" each night, whilst every employee holds their hand out for £5 tip even though you've paid the company that employs them to do their job.

Decent prices in general but I doubt business class for these short haul flights are anything remarkable. Would rather tolerate the crappy economy class to save for a better hotel at the destination.
    dr_joolz's avatar
Correct all they do is block off the middle seat, so you get a table in between lol hardly business class

As someone who has been tracking the price of some short-haul destinations this is a "meh" sale.

There is a bonus to booking via Dublin to cross the Atlantic.
US Customs clearance takes place in Dublin airport, so when you arrive in the USA it's as if you took a domestic flight.

EDIT - Sadly, this doesn't apply to BA flights via Dublin. (edited)
    Renwaldo's avatar
This only counts if you go direct from Dublin (So on AA, Aer Lingus etc - not BA). If you go via London then you're with everyone else

Cheaper to fly out of the UK (thankfully) than getting the train within the country.

London to Newcastle on this BA sale is £73 each way.
On the LNER website it is from £40.50 each way. No need to wait for a sale. Train ride is 3 hours, you can turn up 5 minutes before it leaves and not have to queue for any security checks. You arrive in the city centre. (edited)

these deals are probably of most benefit to those looking at tier points. Any of the longer distance Club Europ routes (Turkey/Greece/Bulgaria etc) net you 160 tier points return. Add 5 days car hire or hotel and you get double tier points up to 31st december 2024, so 320 tier points. Do two of these trips this year and you've reached the threshold for SIlver status which gives you lounge access for a year, plus baggage allowance, fast track security at some airports, and seat selection. Thats the value for me on these if you're a frequent flyer

I'm looking at Edinburgh to Palma and back in one day for 160tp to knock me into silver

Was looking for some flights to Barca and even on Economy it's coming upto £220 pp.

Barça = short for the football team
Barna = slang term for the city

Assuming that anyone is interested in talking about visiting Luxembourg....

    luxembourg.public.lu/en/…tml
Since 29 February 2020, public transport has been free for everybody, residents as well as tourists. This is the case for trains, trams and buses (RGTR, TICE, AVL). In other words, you don't need to buy a ticket anymore.

Think I might have to go there just to experience this marvel.

Visited Luxembourg last year. It feels weird getting on the bus or tram and not paying. It's good though.

Is there any point in flying biz class on these short haul other than collecting tier points?
    Spacehduk's avatar
Lounge access, tier points and very high baggage allowance. If none of these matter to you then it's pointless. I guess the empty centre seat could be useful if you're obese.
  10. lidds's avatar
The lounge access is a nice perk, as that would be costing you about £30 each way on its own, the luggage allowance is pretty decent too.

Edit just had a look and to go to Milan and the difference between economy and business is about £250 per person return. (Plus it is British airways, so either way you are going to be sat on a creaky old plane)  (edited)
    RickyWong's avatar
Had one of the roughest landing in my life with BA. Literally slammed to the ground and every body on the plane was “Ooof..”. It slammed so hard, it was actually painful on the back. (edited)

Just to be clear, the seat pitch (aka legroom) is identical to economy. By that I mean not suitable for adults. You're far better off paying for economy and an exit seat, especially given the lack of lounge availability in most places and the distinctly average service and opening hours out of UK BA hubs.

Anybody know if these are boeing aircraft?
    PoundsEurosDollars's avatar
BA do not operate Boeing aircraft on short haul. They haven't had any more 737s for years. So within Europe, you'll always be on an Airbus.

    Long-haul, yes, some 777 and 787.

Was looking at flights last night, and the prices have gone up by around £400 since then. Sounds like they are doing an eBay 20% sale and the raising the prices in the morning.
    bluesuns2's avatar
Didn't know ebay were selling flights
