These are just no good… Picture quality is terrible, live feed takes ages to load up (not useful when needing to see something live), batteries needed changing every month, no battery life percent status, video footage limited to 60 seconds per event, with a cool off period of 10 seconds, no rich notifications (no snapshot preview when receiving alerts), poor app design, overall cheap feel to the cameras.

I had 2 of these and the doorbell… sold them and went with Ring instead. The user experience on Ring is flawless and the live feed loads up instantly with no lag.

And you can actually use Ring subscription-free. Google ‘Scrypted’.

You have to pay a subscription for these now!

Not if you have the sync module, which this comes with.

These are terrible, wouldn’t recommend. I bought them in 2021 and the battery constantly dies with not much usage.

Totally agree with you! I gave mine back because they're rubbish

Two years battery life if you have the camera in the cupboard doing nothing

    Haha you're absolutely correct!

I've had the blink door camera for a few months, went with blink because of the no monthly fee,but the quality of it is not that high.App takes ages to loadand it only takes certain batteries.Wanted to get the camera's also, but had mixed feelings about the reviews.Think im gonna swith to Eufi or something else if there's gonna be a subscription.

I have tried these and now have a eufy and it is superb, last week I purchased a couple of the ezviz cameras that where on special, load of rubbish compared to the eufy system. I need to bite the bullet and just buy more of their cameras rather than trying to save a few quid by buying junk.

I can't fault these. Have 4 and the doorbell. I did have one faulty one which let in water but customer services swapped it with no problem. I've only had to swap batteries in one so far after about 18 months

Me too, some have lasted around 3 years. All the muppets stating that they don’t last clearly haven’t set them up correctly. They’re not supposed to pick up human/vehicle traffic in the street - 2 x AA won’t last at that rate. Have mine set up with capture grids on my driveway, sideway and rear garden - only problem I’ve had is my 7 yr old knocking one off the wall with his football 🤦🏻‍♂️

These are great camera’s and I’m very happy with the doorbell also. We had the original camera when they first launched so no subscription which is great.

Had mine for 3 years now and I can’t really fault them for the price. First set of batteries lasted 2 years on my front door with high usage so no complaints. They do the job and the app is fine. (edited)

Get it from John Lewis for 2 year guarantee

I don't think John Lewis deal comes with the sync module, not sure though??

I've had these for a few years now, all of a sudden last month it popped up on the app that my free trial was coming to an end.. so I'm paying now, did look at a usb, but my understanding is that you have to take it out and view files on a pc
    ADT2000's avatar
I did the same... but I did see somewhere that they are working on an update to the app which will let you view files from USB!! Granted I might have been dreaming.... or wising that's what it said!!!!!

Absolutely useless unless you don't actually want to watch anything specific

2 year battery life... Laughable... You also need specific batteries. The old XT2 is great as still get free cloud. I have a mixture, with 2 of these on sync module 2 with local storage. Clips do take longer to load, but not too bad. I'm just glad I bought the 3 x XT2s previously. Not sure I'd bother with just these new ones.

Agreed with the subscription issue... Seemed to stop last month after a couple of years usage.

Weird, my blink free 30 day subscription has been running for over a year

    Nice

Looks like a good deal... But can anyone confirm if you definitely need a subscription? As won't bother if you do.

You can store the clips on a USB stick via the Sync Module without a subscription but they do take longer to load up when you view them.
  18. Alowen73's avatar
What rough size are the clip files? Just wondering what size USB drive would be appropriate.
    Mr-Friday's avatar
I use a 128GB USB stick and works fine. When it fills up it just over writes the earliest files. I have a four camera system and it records clips for at least a 3 or 4 week period that you can still access.

I have two sat in the drawer somewhere... They were covering the driveway and front door so with the cars and family coming back and fore, this drains the batteries quite quickly

The batteries are expensive, which makes these cameras only really suitable for low activity areas (edited)

I have the original version with hub and no subscription- agreed about battery life not being anything like 2 years so I bought long micro USB leads and plug them into a usb plug indoors Amazon sell the leads and worth a few pounds that they cost and had a few old usb plugs in house so no cost there
