Castrol GTX ULTRACLEAN
Cars today have a tough life, and that’s not going to change as they get older – it may even get worse.

Heavy loads, towing, extended motorway trips, and long periods of idling while waiting for the family – all these are tough driving conditions.

They can lead to high engine temperatures, and to elevated levels of contaminants from burnt and unburnt fuel accumulating in the oil.

These can all result in engine sludge, which can shorten the engine’s life.

Castrol GTX ULTRACLEAN’s synthetic technology, with its sludge buster, breaks down and cleans away existing sludge and protects the engine from future sludge forming - offering up to 50% better sludge protection than tough industry limits*.

Help extend your engine's life by choosing the right oil for your vehicle from the Castrol GTX range.

Castrol GTX has been helping to extend engine life for over 50 years. It has evolved to meet the needs of consumers and vehicle manufacturers since 1968 and continues to innovate and remain a trusted brand today.

Castrol GTX's double action formula cleans away old sludge and protects against new sludge formation better than tough industry standards* demand.

Castrol GTX Ultraclean's superior performance provides up to 50% better sludge protection compared to tough industry standards** - no other oil keeps engines cleaner.

*Compared with API SN SEQ. VG Sludge test limit

**%50 cleaner than the API SN industry standard as measured in the SEQ VG Sludge test

Ok if you have a car from the early 90s

Even then most 90s car engines were certified to take 5w30 and engines just run so much sweeter on 5w30 than 10w40 which feels like a sump full of treacle when you're trying to rev.

SR20 engines love 10-40. I honestly wouldn’t run anything other than Fully Synthetics on anything made in the last 10 years.
