This will give you good views, despite being a very light plastic construction, the optics are solid. The eyepieces are not rubbish, so they'll do for now.
The tripod on the other hand is absolute trash. I often recommend this to people who already have a decent photo tripod, otherwise the similarly priced Heritage 76 mini-dob will probably be less frustrating to use (but will not do for daytime/terrestrial observing like the Travel Scope).
For recommendations on higher price points, my old post here.

Edit: Oh, the finderscope is very dark for using at night. To improve it a bit, cut out the plastic "mask" inside its tube that limits the aperture of the front lens. It's there because of that lens is low quality and produces false colours (chromatic aberration) - limiting in aperture helps with that. BUT it's better to see some stars with the red/purple hues around them that not seeing those stars at all when you are trying to aim (edited)

Pro tip, don't use this to look at the sun

That's if the sun is out. It's safer to look at the sun at night.

Always been interested in the Moon, stars and planets. Could anyone recommend a good, but easy to use beginner telescope which would do the job and also be useful if this became a hobby long-term? Is it a very expensive hobby - although I know all hobbies can become expensive if you want the best kit. Or what is the best website to start to look into this kind of thing? Thanks.

You could try asking the people over at Stargazerslounge. I think there may be a guide or two and plenty of people on there will know what they are talking about.
