Does anyone know if these are any good? Or are all these sorts of kits roughly the same whatever the name on the packaging?!

A set like this would have been made to a price. Bear in mind 1 decent drill bit could start at £5. Do you really need another 63 screwdriver bits that you won't use half of, when you could spend that money on better kit. The socket bits are OK if it is finger tight and in a small place, otherwise you would use a socket set. So more useless bits.
Dewalt is owned by Black & Decker, and their cheaper kit reminds you of Draper quality.
What do you intend to do with it? Light home work once in a while, start a hobby, build a home? (edited)

These Kits are always dodgy no matter what Brand Name is on the Packaging.

Appears as if the manufacturer is Licensed to use the Brand Name on a very poor quality product.

You'd be better off buying quality bits you'd use rather than a load of cheap junk you won't

Yes these kits are generally of questionable quality, however, I do think there's a case to be made for them as a starter kit to ensure coverage and then as you blow through the bits you'll know what you frequently use and therefore should invest more into.

When I bought my first house I started with the similar Makita kit and it was a great start point to my tool collection now into the 1000s

Though the Makita does have more variety which I think makes it more worthwhile such as a cheap torpedo level, spade bits, hole saws etc.

Completely the same situation here. This kit definitely paid for itself but now gets very rare use as have much better quality tools for the jobs, great for a starter DIYer. (edited)

Better to get this without all the unnecessary stuff and save £5

DeWalt Multi-Material Drill Bit Set 23 Pieces - Screwfix

These bits look slightly better than the cheap bosch/makita sets that are knocking about, but i'd still want to go for the Dewalt "Extreme" range personally

Some of the sizes in here are very odd, i've never used a 3mm masonry bit, for example - uisually the minimum is 5mm for yellow plugs (which is missing from this set, replaced with 5.5mm) and typically I use 6mm and 8mm plugs for anything mounted on a wall. (edited)

Is this combo better than bosch professional?

If looking metal/plastic general purpose bits these Dewalt bits are very good. I usually buy the black and gold Osborn jobber bits individually but bought this set and i've used some of them few times and they seem very good.52690710-Qc9mt.jpg
