So do I need to pay for a full price ticket before I can buy discounted ones? Doesn't seem clear.

I managed to get a Two Together card late last year for about £20 from the Trainline, there were no conditions to meet first .. just the way I like it.
I need to get a Senior card next ..3 year one hopefully. Won't be needing it until late April, so plenty of time to wait for a good deal. If need be though, I'll just pay the full price of £70.
