Yes, I've used it with 16-25 Railcard and Family Railcard.

Any idea if that would work with tickets bought using a railcard? Two together in this instance

Just ordered one for son who is 16 today thanks

Well, at least you can use the 16-25 railcard until you get to use the new railcard in September. Although, if you got a 3 year one, I’d recommend putting it away somewhere until she turns 18 and fish it out then. :)

Thanks, I'd just bought our 16 year old daughter the 16-25 Railcard but fares will be much cheaper with one of these. Don't fancy my chances of getting the railcard swapped. Still nothing ventured nothing gained.

Would like to point out that these are now ROLLED OUT if anyone needs/wants one!

Thanks for that, DealsIUsed. Yes, not clear from reindeer's thread, but clear enough on TPE's T's & C's:- The additional discount from 34% to 50% is only available on tickets for Transpennine Express services Only available when purchased using the orange 'Buy Tickets' button underneath 'Save 50% with a 16-25 railcard' on or via the tpexpress app (promo code: TPESTUDENT) The additional discount only applies to Standard Advance Purchase tickets only and Standard Airport Advance tickets to and from Manchester Airport Tickets must be purchased in advance of travel, and are subject to availability, so book early to get the best possible fares Customers must select a 16-25 Railcard in order to obtain discount, and must present this when you travel Tickets are non-refundable, and are only valid on the date and train services(s) shown on the ticket(s)

Use railcard at any time on any train until 31 August (no 10am start)

This happens every year, July and August. Can I use my 16-25 Railcard at any time of day? Yes you can. However, for all journeys made between 4.30am and 10am Monday to Friday a mi… Read more

If your ticket is over £12 before the price reduction, you will get 1/3 of the price knocked off. Example, a train ticket from Slough to Windsor return is £2.40, with the 16-25 railcard, it knocks it down to £1.80. However, if purchased before 10am, the price will still be £1.80 (if purchased in July and August). Or if purchased outside of the July or August months, it will be £2.40. However, say I buy a ticket from Slough to zones 1-6 day travel ticket, without a discount, that would be £15(ish). The railcard knocks it down to £10.05. So long as the ticket is after 10am on any weekday, I will get the discount. Also, applies to before 10am in July and August. Understand?

What station is this that you can do it ? Yes I read what you said.

There is a new 16-17 saver railcard which will be on sale from 20 Aug which gives 50% of fares so a great deal for those within this age bracket. Tried posting the deal but not sure why it was taken down without explanation as it would be a better deal than the 16-25 railcard which only gives 1/3 off. Cut and paste information from the site: The 16-17 Saver will go on sale on 20 August 2019. It's valid across England, Wales and services into Scotland, but not on ScotRail or Caledonian Sleeper services. Holders of a 16-17 Saver will be able to buy discounted tickets for travel from 2 September 2019. Customers will be offered the 16-17 Saver as either a digital product on their phone or a physical card that will be posted to them. It's not possible to have both, this is in line with other discount products.

Lol, fair enough.

Erm, no, that's the whole point. There is free travel due to the delay in the new trains. Which have now arrived. That's eight brand new 4 carriage trains so there are trains every 15 minutes. Capacity has been doubled since a few months ago. Trains that start at Gospel Oak (closest station for Hampstead Heath), passes through Crouch Hill (for Crouch End), improve access for the new WHL, connect onto trains for Southend at Barking and in a couple of years will extend to Barking Riverside, a brand new 'town' on the Thames with 10,800 new homes and the facilities to match.

Another hip-hop nobody

This line is horrible, I wouldn't jump on it even if it was free. The trains consists of two carriages, come every 30 mins. and people board it regardless of if it's already packed. And, you have to fight it out with the EU self-claimed builders from Walthamstow and Leytonstone.

Me and my gf never guy them. I have heard others on here * about not getting bonus points. Eg ebay Sainsbury

Will be account specific, offers will vary or you won't have one right now. That applies to that particular offer period only. You're entitled to applicable bonus points once per offer period. An offer months later is NOT the same offer. Nectar are notoriously bad at paying bonus points on time, if at all. It's often necessary to chase them up which you should have done for your offer months later....IF you followed the T&Cs correctly.

Then you did something wrong. GWR website shows you the points (including bonus points) that you will earn before you pay and it's also confirmed on your e-receipt

the bonus points come through within 28 days of offer ending,in my experience nearer the 28th day.

5. Bonus points will be awarded on a customer’s first transaction only and not for multiple bookings. I tried using this offer a second time, monts later than the first and received no points.

Nothing you've said detracts from the fact the £ is worth less than it was - just being cheapskate and looking for ways to cut the expense is not really a solution to anything. Take your own tins of beans and sleep on a park bench - that would be cheaper, but not really the holiday you want :)

I disagree. Look for the right deals, don't stay dead in the centre, buy wine from local supermarkets and say away from chains for food and you'll be fine. We paid around 20/25 Euro for two courses for two people with wine/beer. Perfectly reasonable I'd say It's around 2euro for a single ticket on the metro and that takes you as far as you want. We stayed away from the centre and paid 4 euro return to get into the City and back. What I do agree with is that some of the attractions (Eiffel Tower) are expensive but there's more to Paris than the tourist attractions.

I'd recommend Antwerp not far from Brussels.

American Express are also offering £20 cashback against an £80+ spend (may be account specific) with Eurostar

Has anyone booked any tickets through Snap? I am thinking of booking some for the AM slot but am not sure what time I will get as it would be difficult for me to get the first train and consequently not worth getting the last AM train as I would get into Paris around 3 pm. Is it correct to assume that the cheapest fare at the moment will be the one that will be allocated meaning that there is less demand? Op maybe you have had some experience in this. Thanks

Thanks OP.

Haha I went and got my free lunch from Somerville a few weeks back :D

yum! And free board at some of the oxford colleges for the night. Though i cant pass for 18 anymore so my yearly day trips to oxford dried up a while ago. Theres only so many times you can pretend to want to go there. I miss the old £1 megabus tickets to Oxford.

Now that you're dropping £27k in fees I would hope that students will put more effort into deciding where they go and what to study. Aside from getting free food (sometimes) there's really not much financial support for open days so it is nice to see things like this

Thats nice touch, I recall we could never visit any Unis so we were always applying blind back in the day whilst all the poshies waltzed off for a day out with daddys cash. We'd never even use a train till our mid20s. Visiting is good motivation for making a decent application.

This should actually be done automatically by the government/TfL if they gave a crap rather than having to use a 3rd party website where there most likely is a catch such as data abuse.

Good service. Must have got £80 back so far. It’s important to keep your cards up to date if you use contactless. Also, they pay the contactless payments back onto the card. Sometimes the login is a bit awkward on iPhone, but just save your TFL login into the password saver and it should work on the reclaim website
