I bought one of these from Costco in December for around £450 which was cheapest at the time.

It’s my first drone and I wish I had spent the extra on the pro. It’s got a better camera, slow motion is 120fps, a lot better than the standard mini 3, it can detect if it’s going to hit anything and one of the best features for me is the auto follow feature (active tracking) so it can automatically follow an object you choose . Those are the main features I would of liked but under £500 was my budget, if you have the funds I’d suggest the pro version.

I got the DJI Mini in that crazy Argos deal and I 100% agree with you. However, there is a company called The Drone Hangar who allow part exchange, and I swapped my Mini 3 for a Mini 3 Pro, for an additional £130-ish, I can't remember exactly, it was back in October. The process was easy, the guy was responsive over Whatsapp and it was all done within a few days. So I effectively got the DJI Mini 3 Pro Fly More Combo for around £420 which I am very happy about (though I did sell the charging hub, bag and one battery to bring the price down to about £300)

Pretty decent deal, as the controller on its own is ~£200, so £200 for the drone. Shame Mini 4 Pro is incompatible with this controller.

I think the mini 3 pro has less flight time though although does have more crash detection sensors and a 48mp camera..

It is a 12mp camera, but has AI software built in to boost the image size in 48mp mode, can be done yourself with Topaz software, although very handy it does it all in a few seconds in the camera.

    ....that's funny!

Great deal but if you can go for the Pro.

It has the better camera which is one of the main reasons to get a camera drone.

It then has better obstacle sensors. Also it uses DJI O3 which has a further range of up to 12km in FHD. You won't need to fly it out that far but the newer transmission is more reliable and is capable of FHD. This does make a difference.

This Mini 3 package however is a very good entry point if you simply fancy experimenting with a drone.

I thought the camera was identical, just that all the other features were gimped. with no obstacle detection.

I'd look at the potensic atom over this.

I have the Potensic Atom SE and it's a brilliant bit of kit. I'm still getting to grips but it has many of the features of the DJI at a far cheaper price point. Potensic has brilliant support and regular firmware updates and there is a thriving community on Facebook which swayed me away from the DJI. I can't compare to the DJI as I've never used it but I'm really pleased with my purchase and don't regret it.

Unless you’ve a Time Machine, this is as good as it gets

I got this deal last year, it's an amazing beginner drone great price

I reckon object detection is the main difference - I did the obvious thing and crashed the Mini 3 on the first flight, but it survived ok.

But for £400 all in with the ace remote, it's still a great deal for a first drone.

I want to buy Dji Mini 4 Pro with RC2 at this price. Its overpriced piece of plastic
    speediemc's avatar
The mini 4 has the height restrictions on them though. The legacy drones are fine

I bought the Mini 2 SE fly more combo for not much less than this, wish I bought this now.
    Majid401's avatar
